Protools is not a requirement if you are a Record Producer. Most DAWs are cross compatible with each other or you can bounce everything down to STEMs. Oak Felder does everything in Logic Pro, Vocal session everything. He doesn't use a Recording Engineer as he acts as both the Vocal Producer and Engineer when working with his clients in the studio. I do the same as well that produces entire songs in Studio One for my clients. I can littery open Protools sessions in Studio One verse vica.
@konradnoises3 жыл бұрын
When you show the effects you use it means you understand that is not about the plugins. And it shows understanding that people CANNOT steal or copy your style to win over your clients (or whatever tf people who hide stuff think will happen), since the reason why it works is inside your head, within you creativity.

He contradicts himself by saying "the reason why it works is inside your head, within your creativity". Why would anyone that spent years grinding to find their own sound just tell everyone how to sound exactly like them? Takes the magic out of their individuality.

And here it is. I just recently recorded through a Vocal Chain that is all Plugin and it's gold. After my HW RME Mic Preamp which is just crystal clear I put 4 plugins in my Input Channel. A Neve 1073 Preamp, a SPL De-Esser (the old version), a 1176 Compressor (Blacky) and a LA-2A Limiter. Gain Staging (no clipping) meaning I mainly just tweak Input and Output Section throughout the chain on every plugin, tweak the 1176 slower attack, slower release and the LA-2A so it catches the last peaks. Both Meters set to GR to see if the needle is moving just a little bit and there it is. The artist was convinced of his own performance and said it was just so dope to hear himself sounding so good just after recording and basically no mixing up to this point. Try it out, as this was probably the best tip Illangelo was giving in this video.

Any of the latest i9 processors or soon, with upcoming compatibility, the m1 will do. Pop on 32 gigs of ram and you're set. Of course you could always go 64gb but not really necessary unless you're using kontakt

UAD plug ins are processed inside of the hardware device itself....so you can take an apollo twin with you with a 13" macbook and be fine

Nice presence off that vocal... it be great to get that presence on a live vocal

My man spent half the video talking about an intro reverse reverb riser, and the other half talking about recording good source vocals. Am I the idiot for expecting a breakdown of the lead vocal/chain/etc?

wait how the hell is he able to open those many plugins into live without his laptop crashing? I bet he has the most expensive MacBook Pro with 64gb of ram and a intel i9 2.4 8th core, which is what I have and I can't do that to my laptop, it starts overheating and gets slow. Great vocal production by the way he´s the goat

I think the UAD Apollo Twin interface runs it's own plug-ins, and you can side load some other brand plug-ins in there so it takes some load off your pc.
