Thank you for these videos. I'm a philly native and I've only been fishing once when i was little but i've always wanted to do it again! For Christmas, i'm getting my brothers (and myself) some gear and a license for next year. Any tips for a novice? I've been doing research so i know a little about the kinds of hooks to use for first timers (and exuberant youths who mite end up with a hook in their butt) Anything else would be super helpful! Thanks!

+Data Bat Awesome, Data Bat! I'm so glad to hear that. As I have mentioned in another comment here, I have an upcoming project on the Channel. It's going to be a "lecture series" on basic fishing, but it will be unlike anything you have read or seen before. It will contain knowledge that are found in books; however, it will also contain a lot of perspective and unison between fishing and other fields out there. It will be a great didactic tool for amateurs and veterans alike. I think that is going to help you a lot. Lectures will come out on Sundays, on a weekly basis. Tight lines!

Are there any good spots to catch freshwater striper near the Philadelphia area?

yuxiang xiang I am the opposite actually. Although I understand what you meant, I am not able to read or write in Chinese. Thus, I will just reply in English (hopefully you can use Google Translate to help you out). The only lures that I am using in the video is a Thomas Fishing Lures E.P. Series in-line spinner, which works wonderfully by simple cast and retrieve; and a 5 inch Gary Yamamoto Senko wacky rigged on a 5/0 Gamakatsu hook, which works nicely on its "sinking motion." The rest of the video is pretty much "still-fishing." If you have additional questions, feel free to comment in English or send me an e-mail. I will gladly reply to it. Tight lines!

how u expecting to catch big fish with that tiny panfish spinner lol
@extremephillyfishing9 жыл бұрын
+historyskyz That "tiny panfish spinner" has landed me some awesome fishes over the years, which is why I decided to request sponsorship from Thomas Fishing Lures. For example: -- Smallmouth Bass (extremephillyfishing.blogspot.com/2014/01/statistical-fishing-chart-for-2014.html) -- Fallfish (extremephillyfishing.blogspot.com/2014/06/may-fishing-sessions-last-update-0514.html) -- Chain Pickerel (extremephillyfishing.blogspot.com/search/?q=Thomas+spinner+largemouth) ...and plenty of Largemouth Bass up to 3lbs, among other Species. Anyways...as a Multi-Species angler, I always tend to use smaller lures to increase my chances of landing different Species of fish. While using those lures, big fish will hit it if they are around. Summarizing, the size of a lure is not proportional to the size of your catch. Tight lines!
@thaister889 жыл бұрын
+Extreme Philly Fishing a bass 4lb+ will jump and ripped that thing right off who you trying to fool put that schoolboy lure away
@thaister889 жыл бұрын
+Extreme Philly Fishing oh and let me guess.... you use that same lure to catch strippers muskies and blues too right? ? haha xD
@extremephillyfishing9 жыл бұрын
+historyskyz I am trying to fool no one here and I am very serious when I say that there is a big flaw in the mentality of "big lures catch big fish." Just so you know, I have caught Striped Bass up to 24 inches on the Thomas E.P. Series In-line Spinner. And just so you know, lots of anglers actually catch Muskies on in-line spinners -- usually a heavy Mepps. As for Bluefish, I will attempt to use it next year and see how it goes. If I do catch a big one on a Thomas Spinner, I will make sure to mention it in the video. :) So far, I have caught them on Zoom Flukes on a 1/2 oz. jighead. Tight lines!
