I really liked this FL's character. She was level-headed, mature, rational and pragmatic the whole way. She wasn't petty, and she truly came across as a healer whose first instict is to help and cure, even those who wrong her, and even if the risk to her is high. She had to risk high stakes when she healed the high emperor, the prince and her husband. Because she accepted her death in her original life, she was more pragmatic about her poisoning and impending death. And she also understood why the prince was so bad to her and I think she did forgive him. It helps that she wasn't in love with him when he did her wrong. It helped her be more objective about who was at fault (both prince and princess) I really appreciate that in this drama, the ML really showed true remorse about what he did and tried to atone even before he knew she was dying. And it is one of the very few that really punished him with the consequences of his own sins. Her dying because of the pill he made her take was the worst punishment he could get and he had to actually live through it. Justice served. I liked the ending too, it was a new start for both, only they both had their memories intact. Just not sure how he found her... I hope the write more stories like this. It felt like an adult wrote it, who wanted to tell a complete, mature story with layers, not just a story that is like the author's wish fulfillment, and full of tropes and shortcuts and irrational behaviors. All characters acted within reasonable limits for the time period moslty. Such a breath of fresh air. I still hated the villain though, but at least there was only one and that everyone saw through her by the end, pity her husband, hope he survived... Definitely recommend.

One of the better ones in terms of plot, production and execution. I usually skip dramas where the FL goes back to the abusive ML who treated them horribly, but this redemption arc i can get behind. ML's cruel actions towards FL was technically not aimed at the FL but his wife whom he married. We all know she died but he did not. His actions were a retaliation or i guess you can say his wife reaped the seeds of karma when she set him up and framed him for sexually assaulting her in order to force him to marry her. This resulted in him losing his reputation and social standing within the royal family. His initial abusive and cruel interactions with her was based on his experience and information he had of his wife and not the FL. From the point where he encountered the real her (the point where he gave her the purple gold pill), his interactions and responses to her have been pretty fair and reasonable given the circumstances and the heavy cloud of grievances and mistrust they were under. In that respect, you can say he was not blinded by his hate for his wife to the point where he isn't able to analyse and see things clearly. How he came about falling for her was actually quite realistic imo. He started falling for her when they entered into a doctor-patient relationship where the power dynamics shifted-he the patient was vulnerable and powerless while she had healing and protective power and she dished it out with her best customer service attitude. It was also the first time we see him acknowledging her as his wife (i.e. the scene where she was cleaning the wound on his groin) bro was confused. I mean, im sure we've all heard of instances where people catch some kind of warm feelings for a healthcare worker looking after them or someone who's putting on their best customer service attitude. Only difference here is, she is technically married to him. As for the FL, while she did have a changed opinion of him as the time progresses, I don't think she had any feelings for him right up to the day she died. The whole time she was in the ancient era, she has been quite task-focused outside of trying to survive and side step the traps others set for her. In fact, it almost felt like she went on a medical mission trip to the past. 🤣 It was paediatric patient, then geriatric patient, then adult icu patient, then regular family medicine cases, then infectious disease patient-girl is a hospital generalist or a emergency med physician?? I felt that the redemption arc was good because there was a debt to pay ultimately for his sins even though it was technically not intended towards the FL but was for the original wife who died. He wanted to kill her but her dying was delayed and dragged out until the time was ripe i.e. when he was most in love with her. He said he went through several reincarnations to find her which also meant that he had to carry with him the memories of longing and regret for several lifetimes before he caught up to her back in the present time. It'll be interesting to see their interactions in the present time where they are practically given a chance at a reset and I still felt like she doesn't really feel the same for him as he does for her.

FL looks like Nayeon from Twice! The ML abused her because of what the original owner's faults. It makes sense but the punishments were too much. If I were in her shoes, I would never thought of liking him at all even though I know it's for the original owner. The ML loves her first and fell harder.
