Song here: • good 4 u is a new and ...
If I post an indie YT song, I generally would like you to go give the original artist a click or two, please; that should be standard procedure by this point. But also, I can't make you do anything, I'm not the cops
What's this? A sequel to Sing for Me? I've wanted to do another megamashup-style vid for a while, and I'm under no delusions that this is better than SfM but I've had this song on the backburner for a WHILE. I love this editing style so much that I'm...really gonna have to look for more megamashups, which isn't easy these days. I usually don't ask for song recommendations, but if you know a good megamashup that mixes pop songs/meme songs/rock together, feel free to shoot it my way...
The commentary!
-I can't believe I somehow ended up editing my best FireDoll for this vid. Buried in a bunch of other villains. Noooooo. Would I be a total hack if I re-used those edits?
-Yes. TAL MERRIK. I realize he only showed up for one episode and all he really did was die ("What are you gonna do, stab me?" - quote from man stabbed). But he was so freaking goofy and theatrical about it that I was legit having a gigglefit in the voice chat on which I was watching that episode, so uhhhhh I guess he's mine now. I'll take him of course
-I did in fact intend to have that Neo picture-in-picture block Radicles out because Neo helps out her homies by taking out their trash exes (I love you Rad, but not for Ray)
-Hey so all of that stuff in the new Gargoyles comic about the Dracons assembling to trash-talk Tony had better be a prelude to him kicking down the door and giving them what for. Please?
-I've come to accept that Final Fantasy XIV is a perpetual fountain for quirky side villains, and REGULA VAN HYDRUS was an absolute treat. It's not every day that you get a lieutenant of the very boring evil empire who happens to be non-boringly snarky at every turn, show up for the sole purpose of delivering banter and then leaving, AND canonically care about his henchpeople's health and safety. My blue boi now.
-For those of you who've never experienced Inscryption, the joke is that at the bridge, the mashup includes the theme of Leshy, the intro villain from that game...aaaaaand I just had it get co-opted by PO3, the FINAL villain of that game, specifically during the part where it's playing a character that's a caricature of Leshy
-Been in a Zelda mood because I've been watching Robbie Daymond stream TOTK, and then going back to watch his old BOTW stuff in the meantime because I had no idea he'd done that and this is the single most entertaining way I could get to know the open-world era. And if you think I'm not going to be referencing those streams rapid-fire with the relevant characters in TBTC, you're wrong, but you probably WEREN'T thinking that because of COURSE I have to have Raymond muck up a hot-air balloon puzzle three times. ANYWAY the point is, Ganon/dorf is great but not one of my babies, and it made me long for my trio who got screwed over by Ganon/dorf and Demise and therefore wants that Gerudo DEAD. (Only two are present because Vaati is in footage hell. Please, dev team, render him 3D for literally anything. Hyrule Warriors 3. A goofy anime spinoff. A low-res, chibi remake of Minish Cap where it's not high art but at least it's good vidding material. Please.
Anyway, the base song for this mashup (won't say titles just in case, y'know) is absolutely a WHAM song in and of itself because the number of WHAMMERs who have been screwed over by someone but instead of just moving on, they make it as personal as possible, all the trappings of "LOOK AT ME NOW! SEE HOW MUCH BETTER I DID THAN YOU? SEE? LOOK AT ME!". Which is what I love about them.
