" Think slowly,
try to remember I'm alive
My body is here
and I am inside."
I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for a few years now and I was curious how often this topic is used in TV shows and movies. If you are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks then I hope this video shows you you are not crazy and definitely not alone. I hope this video will be some sort of safe place for everyone who is suffering from panic attacks.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is just accept it. Try to embrace your anxiety and try to listen to the signs. Most of the time, when having anxiety, your body is trying to tell you something. Try to find out why you are having those anxiety attacks, why you feel the way you do. Maybe write about it. Is there something that you can change about your environment? The people around you? Or the trigger of those attacks? Know that you will always get through it, no matter how big the panic attack is. It will end. Know that you are safe, and that it's okay. It's okay to not feel okay. There will be better days. Be proud of yourself for trying to feel better every day, be proud of yourself for trying to recover. And don't get angry when you have a relapse. It's a very long and intense process but you will slowly get there. You will slowly take control of your own body and your own life again.

I have a severe panic disorder, which for me means i have at least one mild panic attack pretty much every single day, and have for quite a while now. I have ones as severe as these in the video maybe a couple times a week on a normal week. And yeah, its really difficult to deal with. But sometimes it helps me to remember that this is actually something i shouldn't just accept as normal, and i hope it can help someone out there struggling to know that even if this is an issue that doesn't really go away, you can be ok. its possible to manage and live with panic attacks until you can hopefully fix the root cause, but you will be ok. I promise. You can do this :)

I love the end with people telling them how to get out of them especially the sensory recognition and countdown. The one I use for my panic attacks as well as my Tourette’s (even if I wasn’t in an attack, Tourette’s will come on just by a sudden spark of anxiety) is close your eyes for 5 seconds, pick a color, open your eyes and try to find something with the color on it. Usually I’d hold a soft item while I did this to keep my hands focused too

I've dealt with anxiety and depression for awhile. I didn't tell my parents because one was too close to me, and the other sometimes shut down my emotional moments with dismissal. Took a long time to realize my mom noticed more than I thought and she revealed that she dealt with the same thing. I thought people would say I was crazy for almost passing out from worrying about homework. My thoughts are liars the most at times. But thought becomes action and you think these things are true and you become trapped in this lie. Or something is true and that's even worse. After Jesus saved me at 9, I still struggle but recently I've begun to just give it to God and read His Word and Jesus is so comforting. He's real and understands everything we go through. Give Him a shot if you ever feel this again. That man sweat blood for fear of what he would go through. We may feel like the battle never ends, but for me Jesus already won the war, I just have to remember that and press on, which is very hard, but meeting God and His Son will be well worth any pain I deal with. That's just me though I know for a fact God will help anyone. We just have to let go and give the control to God, and lack of control is sometimes part of anxiety. God wants us to let him help. Just ask Him. Silence with Him never means absence or that He doesn't hear. He hears you. This experience of mine isn't from being in church all the time but from God giving me comfort when I didn't have a church. He's so sweet and loving I can't even explain it. He soothes me in ways I can't explain and that's after I've lost my mind. He's reset me everytime and given me rest. He also knows there are times we need medication to ease our worries and torment. He's there though, I promise. Love you all.

Sometimes it's hard to explain why we feel some type of way and why our body reacts to certain things. Sometimes the reason of panic attacks is something we don't know of yet, its something that is slowly showing or maybe it's something that will always be unknown to you and the people around you. Just give it time. Know that you will always get through it, no matter how big the panic attack is. It will end. And if you ever feel like this again, you can always come back to this video. I hope this will be some sort of safe place for everyone who is suffering of panic attacks, just like I am. Take care of yourself ❤️

I remember having my first extremely bad panic attack. I was scared shitless and had no idea what panic attacks were my fingers were stiff and my hands were cold my entire body felt tingly and I literally thought I was dying. My mom told me that I was over exaggerating and that I needed to calm tf down. My younger siblings were with me every step of the way it took almost an hour to get me to calm down. After having another panic attack later in the year my mom began to get worried and told me she was going to call the ambulance which freaked me out even more she decided to get me some counseling after that because she realized it was really bad. Now, my mom actually makes an effort and has bettered her ways in dealing with these kind of things.

@@twentyonetreehill thank you, I really needed to hear that :). You see being a boy and having panic attacks is tough, because, well, we live in a stereotypical world, and a lot of people think boys should be tough. There’s a few things that can usually trigger a panic attack from me, one of them is being overwhelmed. I was in the boys bathroom and felt one coming on. I started doing everything you’re expose to do to calm yourself down, and none of it was working. I got dizzy, my ears rang, my hearing was muffled, but then came the worst symptom for me, not being able to breathe. I started breathing in really deep, and luckily most of the guys were trying to calm me down. It lasted for about 7-8 minutes probably, till I could breathe normally, and I could hear better. I ended up getting told that a few of the Boys said while I was in that state that I was overreacting. Hearing that made me realize the amount of ignorance there is in the world.

Can someone who knows for sure they have anxiety answer this for me? I’ve always been hesitant to say that I have anxiety or depression. Just cuz I feel like it could be worse so maybe this is just a phase, it’ll pass. But I’ve kinda been thinking that for about 5 or 6 years now. It’s not all total darkness, i mean i have a good day every few months and I’m relatively functional so I feel like I’m not qualified enough to fit into these categories. But my anxiety lately has just been through the roof. I haven’t had a panic attack but there’s just this constant tightness in my chest and knot in my stomach. One minute I’ll be walking around like that, still doing ok, and then some teensy tiny annoying thing happens, like I’ll remember an email that I didn’t respond to or I’ll have to talk to someone or my mom reminds me of some chore I haven’t done and all of the sudden it’s like it flips a switch and I’m just so completely and overwhelmingly done. With everyone and everything. And I just need to be alone until my internal pressure gauge drops a centimeter below the red again and I can go back out and get as much as I can done until the next shutdown. Is that anxiety? Either way thanks for letting me vent.

It sounds like anxiety and anxiety attacks. KZbinr Joey Kidney has some very good videos about his anxiety attacks. Maybe you can check it out so you see someone who is going throught the same things. And you should never be afraid to talk about how you are feeling. Yes perhaps there are people who have it worse, but you and your mental health matter and everyone experiences anxiety differently. It obviously is a big deal to you, because if it weren't you wouldn't have shared it with us. So please just talk to people about it. Don't go through this alone.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I know people probably always tell you that you just need to breathe and that you just need to be more optimistic, but we keep fighting and fighting and sometimes the best thing we can do is just accept it. Know that you are safe, and that it's okay. It's okay to not feel okay. There will be better days. Be proud of yourself for trying to feel better every day, be proud of yourself for trying to recover. And don't get angry when you have a relapse. How do you explain what a panic is to a NIGERIAN because it has reached a point were its just embarrassing for me to have one and then people be staring at you like you're possessed or something
@fuzzydo6911
@fuzzydo6911 6 ай бұрын
I'm not sure about Nigerians, but when I have to explain to someone what a panic attack is, I tell them that when you are in danger your subconscious goes into fight-or-flight mode so that it can either fight off the danger or run away from it. A panic attack is what happens when you are so stressed that your subconscious thinks you are in danger and activates fight-or-flight mode. However, you're not in danger so there is nothing to fight or run away from, but your subconscious doesn't know that so, naturally, it assumes that you are in the process of dying. That response from your subconscious is a panic attack. I hope this helps.

Kissing someone who is having a panic attack is one of the best ways to calm them down. Yes, Finn should have found another way to stop Emmas panic attack, but I wanted to show all the different ways to calm down someone who has a panic attack and this is one of the ways to do it.
