This is wrong . The power to weight ratio as in the classical SA/D formula (sail area / displacement ) is NOT calculated like this at all . The formula to be used is Sail Area / ( displacement/64)^0.6666666 . The power of 0.666666 turns weight into wetted area . This way you have a dimensionless ratio of two areas : the powered area of the sails versus the draggy wetted area that will consume that power. BTW SA is in square feet and displacement in lbs

On a multihull, weight is righting moment and he is not talking about displacement. SA to weight is important to determine how much power the boat can handle before exceeding its righting moment. Displacement to length tells you how fast the hulls potential speed is.a mono hull is different as its righting moment is fixed under the water and weight is centralized.
