I had the pleasure to sail a King’s Cup on Alan’s personal boat, an experience that ended with winning the cup in the fiercely contested multihull class. Not many catamarans of this size are a pleasure to sail, especially in lighter winds conditions. There is plenty of shade and ventilation. No wonder the Stealth designs are so popular in the tropical waters around Phuket. The build quality is outstanding. A visit to the yard will convince you. Used boats are rare and highly priced. If you find one, do not hesitate too long!

Researching History of Oak Flats Sailing Club at Shellharbour where Alan started sailing with his father and brother. Alan is an inspiration to young sailors starting off in the sport.

What a blast from the past. Alan and June were amazing people to have at the sailing club in Ballina in the 1990’s, learned a lot from them while I was sailing on NS14’s there. Sailing experts if ever there were. Very fond memories and a lot of fun. Tough as heck, I think he broke ribs during a state level race when we all in the field got flattened by an absolute screaming gale and big waves hit us all mid race at sea, I think it was off Mooloolaba, every boat got slammed over, they didn’t call for rescue, just righted and kept on racing. Alan’s designs and builds have always been extraordinary, beautiful, practical genius, when he was building NS14’s every boat was a like a Masterpiece to my young adult eyes, I felt beyond privileged to crew on one of his builds.

Very interesting catamaran. Straight forward sailing cat with a lot of potential. Fits well here in the Caribbean. What's the estimated waiting time to get a Stealth cat? Thanks for the video. Fair winds.

Wayne Doeblin many thanks Alan sure knows his stuff and they are creating some very fast and cool boats. I’d love to see what they could do with three hulls!

Really like your Behind the Beams videos. Especially the technical stuff (this time I was triggered by the picture of the carbon boom). Thanks for posting. By the way: What's the story behind the Dutch flag on your boat?

Karel van Brederode many thanks for the comment!! Spirit is dutch registered as Claudia’s European and we love Holland. It’s also reasonably priced and easy to do 😁

Wonder do they make carbon mast’s?
@TrimaranSpiritXL5 жыл бұрын
Michael Piccirillo they sure do! They make pretty much 99% of the boat at their factory. Very fascinating stuff!
