I've binged quite a few linocut tutorials and this one by far is the most concise and informative for a beginner. The highlighter tip at 0:13 in particular is golden.

DUDE: That's awesome work! I'm a comic artist, just starting with lino (again). Your video pushed my motivation even further. Thank you very much for showing your process in such a transparent way. Best, B (1 question: For priming, like you did with the red marker, could one use also something like thin gouache? What do you think.)

Are you using water-based acrylics or oil-based? I think I heard at the end something about oil-based, but don't see any description of the materials you're using here. GREAT video for a beginner!!!

Using oil base ink or you can use a hybrant oil water clean up ink as well. Cranfeld makes great versions of the ink

Dang, these looks really good! What ink and paper did you use? Also what did you use for the jig?
@underpressurehouston8903 жыл бұрын
Mohawk superfine is the paper, but Kozo is great as well, mat board with window cut out is the jig, and Cranfield Traditional Inks but they do make water cleanup oil inks as well. Thanks- Pat

The Jig is just mat board and have included video on how to make reusable registration tabs. The ink I am using is Cranfield Traditional Relief Inks, the colors are fantastic...they also make safe cleanup versions of these inks as well.
