Great video. Thanks for the mention. We have hundreds of customers using our powered GoPro mounts (PowerStick) on the Great Lakes every weekend and they are very secure even in the crazy rollers and other wild water conditions. The POV from the back is called the "cameraman" and catches all the video. Keep up the great work! Brian
@AnglingAnarchy4 жыл бұрын
@myYOLOtek Thank you for watching! And thank you for that insight on the PowerStick. Having never used one, I wasn't sure of the stability, so it's good to hear they will handle some rough conditions. I get lots of questions from people that are just starting out filming their fishing trips and I always mention the PowerStick as a great option especially if someone just wants an all encompassing shot (cameraman) with a single camera.

Great video on boat setup, what do you do if you’re fishing for several days and you have to download all the data off all the memory cards do you take all the cameras off and download onto your computer or is there an easier way to do that? i see many cameras on your boat and having to reset everything every morning seems tedious.
@AnglingAnarchy Жыл бұрын
IRatherBFishin It used to be easier to take the cards out of the cameras with the hero 4 cameras because I could access the SD cards without taking the cameras out of the aluminum cases. Unfortunately that's no longer the case with the newer cameras. But to answer your question, yes, I dump footage from all of the SD cards each and every night of a multi day trip. It's a bit of a pain and probably takes about an hour, but it's just part of keeping everything organized 😊

Random question relating to the rods you use. What length/power would you recommend for an assault stick? I have been leaning towards a 9 foot XH. I throw multiple sizes of every kind of bait, so a good "all around" rod would be nice. Thanks!
@AnglingAnarchy5 жыл бұрын
Jaren Ruble The XH (SWAT model) is probably the most versatile rod and sounds like it would cover all the bases for you. I typically use the MH ( Surgical strike) for smaller bucktails, topwaters, gliders, cranks etc. And the XXH (Shock & Awe) for big rubber and anything else that's more than 6 ounces or so.

I'd like to start my own youtube channel someday, whether or not I do remains to be seen. I also watch many fishing channels here. So I've given some thought to how to shoot videos. I know little of cameras. Mounting cameras is a challenge and you give good info here. AUDIO!! As you mention this is more important that many realize. If the viewer can't hear the dialogue then the video is almost impossible to watch, I think. One thing I notice is when 2 or more fish from a boat you can hear the person with the camera but you can't always hear the others. This is annoying as the viewer has a difficult time understanding the conversations and what is happening. There are some products that allow for two or more microphones to be used and synced together but I don't know much about them other than they exist. Also, music choice and volume can make or break a video for the viewer. Music volume should be adjusted and mixed to the dialogue volume. So many videos don't adjust levels between music and dialogue so when the music starts it's so loud, compared to the voice volume, that the viewer is blasted from their chair. Sorry, but the latest Rap or Metal hit isn't likely to be a good choice for a fishing video, no matter how much the video creator likes that music. If the goal is to get more views and subscribers then music that blends in and doesn't jar the nerves is likely to appeal to more viewers, or not bother them enough for them to click off your video and move on to another. Looking forward to more from you on the subject of making videos.

One thing I'd like to make clear is my comment above was a general comment on the subject of youtube fishing videos and not meant as a comment specifically about this channel.
@AnglingAnarchy5 жыл бұрын
MsPrincesspaulina All good observations for sure! Audio Is way more important than most folks give it credit for. I've been trying to get better at making sure the audio of whoever is in the boat with me is a touch more audible. I think music is totally overlooked by most folks when it comes to making a vid. I try to find something with a good beat that is copyright free so I don't get dinged on KZbin. Also, been trying to make sure the music doesn't get too overbearing 😊 Throw your hat in the ring and start a channel! Lots of us willing to help a newcomer!
@MsPrincesspaulina5 жыл бұрын
"Throw your hat in the ring and start a channel! Lots of us willing to help a newcomer!" Thanks for the encouragement. I wish it was that easy. I have some life issues, for lack of a better term, that is keeping my boat firmly in the garage. Drives me nuts whenever I see it because I want to go. Maybe some day. If I do start a channel I will not use this screen name. I have a name already registered with youtube for my channel, The Lonesome Fisherman. I've talked to Lee Tauchen at muskie shows a few times over the years. He knows me by this youtube name, and knows I'm no princess. lol I've been active, off and on, with Muskie's Inc over the years. I talked about the audio simply because I know more about audio production than video production. As I mentioned above, I wasn't talking specifically about your channel. Your audio is pretty good. Yes, I know all about copyright free music and youtube. lol I've looked into that already. So I understand that part of it. It's a hassle but what can you do? I'm looking forward to more of your work about filming a youtube fishing show. I've been hoping someone would do this. Thanks
