Jays should pull their offer for Corbin Burnes. Redirect some that $$ to Sean Manaea. The Jays do wonders with lefty's. You can slot him in as a 3 or 4 and will eat innings. Smarter play. Burnes literally does not want Toronto's $$! He's taking that offer to other interested parties and hoping that one of them will match! In the Giants case get reasonably close to it! It's embarrassing actually. Just sign Sean Manaea and Anthony Santander. This is a must. As for Naylor? That's not happening.

naylor bros (there are 3 of em I believe) should be on the Jays. Josh, the mississauga masher, would be a great fit on this team/organization. His energy during cleveland post season with yankees… it made me proud. He’s a solid hitter. 31 homers and 100 RBi’s from the left side is pretty nice. Naylor can play 1B/DH and a half decent RF/LF. His lil bro Bo can catch and his tools look good like he could develop into a solid everyday catcher … lefty batter… maybe that makes Kirk available for trade… another canadian I’s bring home is Abraham Toro… can play a half decent 1/2/3B switch hitter… part time player but maybe finds his stride in Toronto? oh and port hope boy Quantril.

Joc Pederson for the win. Fills the DH hole and LH bat and can fill in the outfield or first when you want to give Vladdy a day off the glove. He had a .900 OPS last year, would be a way cheaper option than Santander or Teo, and he’s a killer in the postseason if for some miracle we make it there.

Let's grab one more piece from Cleveland's bullpen too. Pederson would probably end up being invaluable for us, like Belt in 2023. It's always the guys we didn't think we wanted (Semien, Ray, belt, IKF, ) who make the biggest impact. Turner was really the only failed FA and he's become a poster boy for failure .

You remember Kendrys Morales? Atkins pivoted to him 8nstead of Encarnacion because he rejected Atkins initial offer? How about Clay Buchholz? Tanner Roark? Atkins has terrible analytics and player evaluations that lead to his stupid signings.

@DarkJediForce didn't AA sign Morales. Vlad came as 'part' of that deal I think. Family friend situation. Roark ok, he fell off and didn't work. That's a great example of a failed contract, maybe the worst. Anderson too. Buckholtz was a one year 3m and he was coming off 100ip of 2.01 era, so that didn't work, but wasn't necessarily terrible assessment.

There really isn't a difference between Josh Naylor and Anthony Santander in terms of fit. They're big bats with defensive limitations that at least primarily hit from the left side. You won't have to give up as much for Santander as you likely will to trade with Cleveland. Joc Pederson would be Justin Turner in 2025. "Look at this JAG we signed!" Not what we need now.
