As an M's fan I'm trying to be as polite as possible here. The only one we would trade is Castillo. Period. Thats it. You can beg, cry, do whatever you want but that is the only one we would trade. Not only that, for as outrageous as it might seem to other teams fans.... you have to overpay to get him as well. If you think you could trade your overpriced Yoshida to us you are absolutely ridiculous. It would likely involve more players, but maybe Castillo and Locklear for Casas and another good young talent. While we don't have a lot of money to use this offseason, (15-20 mil reportedly) we could trade for Brandon Lowe and Sign Carlos Santana, or sign Gleyber Torres and get Turner back. Trade for Yandy Diaz etc. We have one of the best farm systems in baseball and have all the chips to make it happen. We have 30 Mil coming off the books after 2025 with both Mitches gone. We would still be extremely competitive and have all our assets still. We aren't HAVING TO SELL. If its an overpay and improves our team, then of course, go for it. Every team of course wants to sell their scraps for diamonds but its not happening.

I'm in favor of trading Cases there is no clear replacement. Abreau makes way more sense since they have multiple left handed outfielders. Keep Cases and trade from depth it's actually quite simple!

So Seattle doesn't like to eat comtracts, so any player making over 15 million a year is unlikely to be included in a trade with them unless you are also taking a player of equal or greater value in return. So maybe a mitch Haniger would have to be included to make that kind of trade happen. A player who is over 30, and seems to be in decline like Yoshida would only work if Castillo was your target and you were also giving up something else too that is major league ready. But, I don't think Boston would trade for Haniger because they don't need outfield help.

It's Christmas season so you can dream. But Castillo is the ONLY available starter available Take it or leave it Starters are getting inflated on the current market. Sad but true. Castillo is as consistent as any player in MLB. Has minimum of of 3-4 years left in his arm His fastball has decreased but his maturity has increased Boston has talent available to trade for Castillo but their fans are not being realistic Casas would be a proven talent over a minor leaguer
