in '75 everyone counted the sox out over the winter. but in the spring rice and lynn changed all that. combined with evans fisk and others they powered their way to the world series. rice got hurt late in the season and wasnt really right in the playoffs otherwise im pretty sure that WS woulda been won by the sox!

This young Man is going to be a beast. If there's one thing the Red Sox have down to a tee since John Henry purchased the franchise its drafting and developing top end talent. If this organization believes Anthony is ready to crack the majors and be a difference maker it's because he is one. Since John Henry bought the team and really started building from within with that first wave of young talent with Lester, Buccholz, Papelbon, Hansen etc., their track record of developing and fielding top end young talent in the majors is nothing short of impeccable. They know what they're doing. Again, if Sox brass thinks.Anthony is ready, then he's ready.

@@chrisdobbins Well the Red Sox didn't think that because he was on featured on NESN constantly. The sports hub talked about him a fair amount. Have you ever heard Fleger and Maz talk about a Red Sox prospect in depth? I sure as hell haven't. I knew more about that guy then I ever cared to know because he was constantly forced down my throat. The only Red Sox prospects that I had ever heard of besides him were Ellsbury, JBJ, and Pedroia. So obviously if the Sox were pushing him that hard then they thought they had something special with him.

Being one of the worst defensive teams in all of baseball, only Miami was worse, the sox need guys that can play solid defense more than anything. It wasn't just the errors, it was all the plays they didn't make that went as hits. Their corners are incredibly weak. If they fix that watch their pitching improve. I just hope they don't do something stupid and trade top prospects for pitching and not fix their defense.
