Thanks. Good clear instructions. Forgot to turn on the charger last night. Now I have 6 strands to repair. Gotta love those coyotes and raccoons and they don't miss many opportunities to feast on poultry!

Thank you. I didn't think I would every need to know how to fix the netting but today my son accidently backed the zero turn mower into the fence damaging some of the wire connections. I have the repair kit from Starkline but didn't know how to use it. They had something called double-sided Litzclips that make the simple repairs easy but not so much the harder repairs.

Oh my goodness! I love the srinkwrap idea. My fence has been in need of repair for a while and this looks so easy .

Thank you! I had the great idea that I could mow the tall grass tangled in my favorite drivable post electronet by running my scythe under the lowest strand. Don't try that😂😂😂. I was sad, but this video made me happy again!

It would be fun to see interviews with Jason & Lorraine from Sow the Land, the Rhodes, Casey & Tori from HoneyTree Farm, Ben & Isaac (Greg Judy’s interns from On The Graze), and Ben & Meg from Hollar Homestead.

I neglected to point out that nearly every one of those fixes was a result of high voltage being in close proximity to hidden metal in the pasture. That’s the #1 cause of damage IMO.

Thank you.This was so interesting ... You teach about things that others dont, that im interested in.. on my way over to watch the knot video.. Can you do a video on sharpening tools? I think Id like to see you guys interviewed.. Have a good day.- Melanie

Option number 3 for ferrules. Get a length of copper pipe like is used in a refrigerator condenser, take a hack saw to cut a half inch section to get a small copper ferrule. If you don't want to cut both wires so you can thread it on use a Dremel with a metal cutting disc to cut a slit down the length then cut your half inch section. You may need hefty fencing pliers to crunch it depending on your hand strength or if you don't have fence pliers or hand strength put the "watoosy" on it using a c clamp.

This is my first time to repair my fence, and it's broken right next to one of the little plastic bead-intersections. So I only have access to broken twine on one side of the break. 😔 obviously I'll have to just cut it on each side of the bean and fix the 4 way. I'm fruatrated. There are so many frayed spits along my netting already. I have only had these fences in use since July 2021. I only move it once a week to once every 3 weeks. But I'm in heavy thicket and S I move it it snags on tree stumps and briars.

Oh and the fit farmer I believe his name is Mike
@conradhomestead45183 жыл бұрын
We are considering cutting our 168 foot chicken netting in half to make it more flexible for placement and easier to move
@PermaPasturesFarm213 жыл бұрын
You know, I never thought of doing that. That seems like a pretty good idea.
@stormy13633 жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to see a short video of you doing a repair using the more complicated method
@PermaPasturesFarm213 жыл бұрын
I’ll see what we can do but the real trick is trying to film the tiny monofilament wires.

My animals only challenge the fence when it's off. They can tell when it's on. No chance they'll accidentally touch the part with the electrical tape and somehow get out.
@davidpritchett8553 жыл бұрын
Yep that's mine too. I think they're smart enough to hear it popping on the weeds.
@PermaPasturesFarm213 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the tape would compromise anything... but then again, there are animals out there much smarter than some of the humans I know.

Thanks for this information. I have so many sheep and cattle nets chewed to shreds by the rabbits that I gave up on them. I’m in the process of putting up woven wire sheep fence. Where might I be able to purchase large quantities of the 3/16 shrink wrap?
@journeyoflovelight3 жыл бұрын
Try Harbor Freight.
@PermaPasturesFarm213 жыл бұрын
I typically buy it right off the shelf at Lowe’s. You could probably go to an electrical supply house and get it in large quantities.
