Sometimes all it takes is someone to spend some time making a step by step video to seriously help people grasp a concept. Thanks for making this it is such a huge help.

Thank you so much for that visual explanation. My class is way ahead of this but I could never grasp the basic multiplication and so I've been lost for the past week. But you forgot to mention the important detail about how the order in which you multiply is super important (A*B is not equal to B*A)

3)Moreover, use of heterogeneous dimensions will cause students in a class that are easy to mix up pairs(e.g. left and right, rows and column etc.) to catch their tendency of mixing things up (more specifically Ss often mix up "multiply 1st matrix's row & 2nd matrix's column" as "multiply 1st matrix's column & 2nd matrix's row".) and set correct habits earlier in the learning process.

I am confused because you said in the beginning of the video that in order to multiply the inside number must be the same. [2*3] and [3*3] but if we change the order [3*3] and [2*3] the inside number are not the same anymore. but since is multiplication I believe it should not change, or how do you know which order the matrix should go. Thanks
@anmolc29 жыл бұрын
In matrix multiplication AxB is not necessarily equal to BxA. The order of multiplication matters. Here if u try to multiply the second matrix with the first(ie change the order) , multiplication will not be possible
