This is one of the reasons I wouldn’t ever date a mama’s boy. His mom is basically his wife. He’s trying to force and push a relationship between his mom and girlfriend but his mom shouldn’t need to be taught how to respect his girlfriend. All three of them are caught in a bad dynamic that isn’t likely to change after marriage. His mom doesn’t want to get along with Emily, Emily doesn’t want to accept the relationship that exists between him and his mom, Shakeb doesn’t want things to change or to stand up for his girlfriend and put boundaries in place. I love the fact that Laila is willing to give Emily a chance, but the way the Shekeb, Emily and Laila discussed the past wasn’t the right way to do it. To leave the past in the past, the issues from that are past need to be settled first. Otherwise those emotions from those past memories are always going to be there. It’s why Emily bottled up her feelings. Emily didn’t see Laila for 6 months. I think the reason Emily didn’t see Laila for 6 months was to give her some space and some time. The only way to leave the past in the past is to solve the issues that are causing Emily’s pain. Shekeb was rude to Emily for saying that she was rude to Laila. Emily is trying to start fresh, but to move forward and leave the past in the past you need to discuss it. Laila needs to apologize for calling Emily a pig. Otherwise those feelings are still going to be there and Emily wont be able to move forward. Laila and Shekeb are ready to move forward, but Emily needs something from Laila first in order to move forward. Laila was polite to Emily and very kind to her. Which I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE. But Laila needs to tell Emily she’s sorry for that so they can start fresh and move forward.
