MUMBAI BHEL PURI
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 25-30 minutes
Serving: 4
Ingredients
For Tamarind Chutney
2 tbsp Tamarind, soaked , इमली
1½ cup Water , पानी
1 Dry Red chilli, deseeded & soaked , सूखी लाल मिर्च
4 tbsp Jaggery , गुड
6-8 Dates, seedless , खजूर
Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार
¼ tsp Asafoetida , हींग
For Garlic Chilli Chutney
15-20 Byadgi Dry Red chillies, soaked & deseeded , भेडगी सूखी लाल मिर्च
12-15 cloves Garlic , लहसुन
2 tbsp Peanut oil (optional) , सिंग दाने का तेल
For Dry Green Chutney
1 small bunch Coriander leaves , धनिया पत्ता
Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार
2 fresh Green chillies , हरी मिर्च
A few Mint leaves , पुदीने के पत्ते
¼ cup roasted Brown Chana , भुने हुए चने
For Mumbai Bhel Mixture
2 cups Puffed rice, lightly roasted , मुरमुरा
4 tbsp Peanut , सिंग दाना
⅓ cup Fried masala dal , मसाला दाल
⅓ cup Chana jor garam , चना जोर गरम
For Sukhi Mumbai bhel
1 cup Mumbai bhel minutes , मुंबई भेल मिक्सचर
1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped , धनिया पत्ता
½ medium Onion, chopped , प्याज
½ medium Tomato, chopped , टमाटर
½ medium Potatoes, boiled & chopped , आलू
1 fresh Green chilli, chopped, हरी मिर्च
½ tsp Degi red chilli powder , देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
¼ tsp Dried Mango powder , आमचूर पाउडर
½ small Lemon juice , नींबू का रस
1 tbsp Dry Green chutney , सुखी हरी चटनी
1 tbsp Sev , सेव
2-3 Fried Puri , पूरी
For Geli Mumbai bhel
1 cup Mumbai bhel mixture , मुंबई भेल मिक्सचर
1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped , धनिया पत्ता
½ medium Onion, chopped , प्याज
½ medium Tomato, chopped , टमाटर
½ medium Potatoes, boiled & chopped , आलू
1 fresh Green chilli, chopped , हरी मिर्च
½ tsp Degi red chilli powder , देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
¼ tsp Dried Mango powder , आमचूर पाउडर
½ small Lemon juice , नींबू का रस
1 tbsp Dry Green chutney , सुखी हरी चटनी
1 tsp Garlic chilli chutney , लहसुन मिर्च की चटनी
2-3 tbsp Tamarind chutney , इमली की चटनी
2 tbsp Sev , सेव
2-3 Fried Puri , पूरी
Process
For Tamarind Chutney
In a pan add strained tamarind pulp, water, dry red chilli, jaggery, dates, salt, asafoetida and boil it for 15-20 minutes on medium heat.
Once boiled, grind it properly using a hand blender and keep aside for further use.
For Garlic Chilli Chutney
In a grinder jar add soaked byadgi dry red chillies, garlic, and grind into a fine paste.
Keep aside for further use.
For Dry Green Chutney
In a grinder jar add coriander leaves, green chillies, salt, a few mint leaves, roasted brown chana and grind it into a fine powder.
Keep aside for further use.
For Mumbai Bhel Mixture
In a bowl add puffed rice, peanuts, fried masala dal, chana jor garam and mix everything properly and keep aside for further use.
For Sukhi Mumbai bhel
In a bowl add mumbai bhel mixture, coriander leaves, onion, tomato, potato, green chilli, degi red chilli powder, dry mango powder, lemon juice, dry green chutney and mix everything properly.
Now put it in a paper cone and garnish with sev and fried puri.
For Geli Mumbai bhel
In a bowl add mumbai bhel mixture, coriander leaves, onion, tomato, potato, green chilli, degi red chilli powder, dry mango powder, lemon juice, dry green chutney, garlic chilli chutney, tamarind chutney and mix everything properly.
Now put it in a paper cone and garnish with sev and fried puri.

Sir I'm from odisha....wahan pe puffed rice bahat chalta hai per bachpan se mujhe pasand nhi tha per 2din pehle 1pack laya tha aur aaj bana diya woh v readymade chutney k saath.......dil se aaj se mein kabhi puffed rice ko hate nhi karunga....leteraly you and ur dishes totally changed my mind❤️❤️❤️

Hey Ranvir, Please try out Bhel from different location.(recommended) 1. Sangli, Maharashtra (they have their different type of murmura) along with different style of chatni 2. Kolhar (Dist. Ahemadnagar) they have different flavour of spiciness. 3. Nashik (from Shaukin's Bhel) 4. Pune ... too. You will find different flavour , test. ps. From Sangli don't forget to purchase "Bhadang"

Looks yummy! During my Bangalore days, we always had tomatoes in Bhel Puri but after marriage to "ahem" northie, she frowned upon tomatoes in Bhel. So, I quietly add it on the side and enjoy!

I'm from Belgaum. It's being a period moment for me to be a Belgamite. There are plenty of popular dishes from Belgaum. Kunda Peda Kadaboli alepak karadant shevbhaji and lots more. Belgaum city might be small but full of food loving people
