No need for more US consulates in India, we've seen time and again how their diplomats interfere constantly in domestic politics. They're bad enough in Delhi already, the US embassy is a hotspot for traitors of all sorts: Kashmiri and other separatists, Islamists, radicals, you name them, they've probably gotten an invite to some program or the other. Reminder that US diplomats were talking with Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP right before the overthrowing of Awami League. Mumbai Pune Expressway needs to be expanded to 12-16 lanes. 8 lanes in the ghat section is understandable but everywhere else it needs to be at least 12 lanes.

Very slow, I do not expect to see Pink line extension and Magenta line extension opened even by their Dec 2025 deadline(except for one extension of Magenta line to Krishna Park extension for Delhi Assembly elections). And progress is even slower on Golden line. DMRC may be losing its magic touch or it may be a state govt. problem, hard to say. There is only a little bit of good news in that Red line extension, Golden line spur and Green line extensions have been approved now.

They need the planes for expansion far more than Boeing or Airbus need their orders (their backlogs are full for the rest of the decade). So it's a very weak negotiating position, and they're probably very scared after China got em to set up assembly lines there and then stole all their trade secrets.

Don't try to blindly apply foreign armchair urbanism concepts to India. This is also important for freight. This isn't the US, we already have excellent rail links between Mumbai and Pune, it's not a car centrism thing.

Kolkata development in IT is great to see. Bangalore getting a US consulate only solidifies its space as a major city of India..and future greatest city of India. Non-BJP states are developing rapidly...Maharashtra only developing because its already very rich..Maharashtras share in indias GDP decreased from 15.3% to now just 13.3% in the last 10 years...Other states are eating up maharashtras share and in future the gap is only widening. Very soon tamil nadu will surpass maharashtra in GDP.

Finally you admit, Maharashtra is richer and thus better than your states (saw you saying some regions were poorer than Bihar a few days ago? Go look at your own state's inequalities first). And if you knew anything about the middle income trap, you'd know that Maharashtra growing at the rate it is is very impressive still. Maharashtra's decline in the share of GDP is down to the rise of Gujarat(8.27% GSDP growth in 23-24), Sikkim(8.52%), Assam(13.33%), Bihar(9.20%), UP(7.48%), Odisha(8.43%) Haryana(7.97%), Rajasthan(8.03%), Karnataka(6.60%),Andhra(7.35%), Telangana(9.24%), TN(8.23%), etc. (notice how only 1 of these is a firmly non BJP state and still at the lower end) and not because of any slow growth in Maharashtra (13.3% is still a massive share btw). In fact Karnataka(6.60%) grew slower than Maharashtra (7.57%) last year. Meanwhile West Bengal(4.55%), J&K(4.71%) and Kerala(4.81%) have the slowest GSDP growth rates in the past decade (2012-23). UP's grew faster last year than your beloved Karnataka and at the same rate as Tamil Nadu. It's already overtaken Karnataka, and is on the way to overtake both Maharashtra and TN.
