Wow thanks man! Kolkata Metro Line 1 also has 8 car DC EMUs that are propelled by third rail system. Rolling stock is made by the same ICF that makes Indian Railway's mainline rolling stock of EMU, DEMU and not to forget, the LHB coaches.

In addition to un necessary friction to Metro Carshed depot, previous tri-party govt led by Uddhav Thàkre's Shivsena deliberately transferred capable Mrs.Ashwini Bhide out of MMRDA. (Reasons they only can explain !!!) This resulted in further delay...🙂

Although this project is good but I still oppose Aarey Carshed cuz Kanjurmarg is as good as any place else and being a resident of Goregaon I understand the disaster it will cause if Aarey is taken down by the Govt. You can't debunk the controversies just by saying its useless rather you will have to convince the protesters that they're wrong or else hear their part and debate on it. Moreover I think MMRDA metro that's currently running is gonna fail cuz there are hardly 10 passengers in train when I commute via them daily. The main reason for it is poor planning of station locations. They are just so badly planned that there are stations even at 200m distance and as long as 3 km. And barely any station is at the desired spot. For example the Poisar station is so close that you could see the preceding station Akurli from it directly and the location of Poisar is worst. Meanwhile the next station after Poisar is so far away that it's useless for commuters who travel between them. Comment or make a video on it....

Yes there are elevated metros too in construction in Mumbai, just that, the routs differ slightly to cater those areas. Like the line 2 Runs from Dahisar to Mankhurd via BKC

Anti social elements? Dude those who first opposed were the actually local tribals who have been displaced now. Further, the cause of tussle has always been felling of trees in 1000s at Aarey forest when much more land was already available in Kanjurmarg which central government later didn't hand over to state stating some trivial lease clause. That land remains unused. No one has opposed this project. Most Mumbaikars have only opposed the builder lobby who want to use carshed as a scapegoat to further thei agenda. Total land acquired and denude of tree cover for carshed is about 25 hectares. Just check how much of it was actually used for the carshed and how much is reserved for builders to make malls, facades to sell at cost of Mumbai's ecology. Stop just bj'ing' government in power for some clout, you wanker.

Any reason why the number of coaches is limited to just 8? Mumbai is used to 12/15 coach trains and even those are not enough.

It's MMRC in Mumbai, it was established a bit late, and the Line 3 was given to them. But by then, other lines were already alloted to MMRDA. In future, all lines in Mumbai would come under MMRC gradually.
