For the auto chicken farm, I recently set one up using a hopper minecart. That leaves it virtually exactly the same as the original versions. It also makes the design more compact!

Except it did make sense, Mumbo. What you were thinking of during the chicken farm was that your lava dispenser needed to be half a block above the slab that your baby chickens grew up on, because if it wasn't, and if your tick delay was off, the drop items from the chickens would just burn up in the lava instead. As a lateral thinker who often thinks of multiple things at omce, I understood what you meant fam. And yes, I'm commenting months late just to say this.

I should have also mentioned earlier that that issue of drops burning up if the height and or tick delay was off for the lava dispenser was also an issue introduced with an update... I had to scratch my head and rework some farms, and, ironically, the build I ended up with was block for block what you made.
