Turn my back from my recent disgrace and give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light.... These are the word's that brought me back from the depths of the worst of all drug addictions and in to the arms of the good Lord. They did did lead me south from that place where my children came to hear me roar. These men have been annointed in their music and are an inspiration to many. God bless your precious heart's.

I'll be honest; I only knew Mumford&Sons since "I Will Wait" came on the radios, but since then I've been searching their songs like crazy. This song was the second I listened to, and I've been listening to it every day on my iTunes. It makes me relax, and just because the voice is strong, but also broken. It's been a while since I've been listening it on KZbin, but seeing the lyrics makes me think about my life. Thank you Mumford&Sons for making me relax and love music more and more.

This song which was shared with me by a very dear friend, brought me back from the brink of madness of addiction and the most unhealthy relationship that one could ever imagine. I think I met and fell in love with the devil. She tried to destroy and kill me, or was it me? I will never know what happened but this song helps me come to terms with and let go of it a little bit more everyday. I try to share it with others I come into contact with who go through the same experiences to give them strength to carry on with these struggles. God bless these guys and their inspirational lyrics and beautiful music.

The war was finally over. The little boy headed to his bunks, and gathered his things. He looked around and saw all the wounded laying in their cots. He noticed something though. They were smiling. Smiling that all the hell they had just gone through was worth something. And the little boy knew it. He didn't need to ask. For he felt the very same way. At the age of 14, he was drafted to fight. He was taken from his parents, sister, and most terrible of all, his dog. His little white, scruffy, dog. He loved that dog more than anything. Every day he would go outside and play with it, bit the dog was old. By now, he expected, his poor old dog was already dead. So, the boy gathered what little belongings he had left, and set out to, well, wherever he may go. He said his goodbyes to his few friends, and left the camp. The boy was 17 now, without any idea where he was, or where his family may be, if they were alive. The young man had enough rations to last for about a week, but not any longer. The boy had suffered a serious injury that left his left leg incapable of very much movement. He was hit with a price of shrapnel from a mortar, and just narrowly escaped death. But now, the boy didn't know what he was going to do. So he headed west, without the slightest notion of where he would find water or food for the journey. After about 3 days, the boy reached a city. Except this wasn't any city. This was his old hometown. Except there was one big difference. The place was empty. From what he could tell, the place had been bombed. He made his way down the familiar street he used to live on. His friend Jason used to live in a house across from his. And he knew all too well that Jacob was dead. As he neared his old house, he heard a light clicking noise. Before he realized what had just happened, it was too late. He had stepped on a mine. He didn't even feel the blast as he was flung into his back yard by the force of the explosion. As he lay on his back, struggling for air, he heard a noise. He forced himself to look over, and what he saw astounded him. Heading over to him, panting with a floppy red tounge, was his old white dog. Except the dog seemed brighter than usual. In fact, the dog looked almost like a beacon of light. He was overjoyed to see the dog. He forced himself up in what little of his body he had left, and crawled up to his old pal. He felt with his bloodied hand the soft fur of the dogs ear. And then he remembered. Remembered when life, was, well, life. He remembered playing out in his backyard, waiting on mom to call everybody in to eat. He remembered dad sitting at the kitchen table, drinking his coffee. And yet here he was, petting the same old dog from his childhood. And all the while, the dog seemed to grow brighter. Finally the boy could not resist any longer. He pulled the dog closer, and gave in to the bright light that was his dogs fur.

+trikeira6ooo They commented the lyrics probably because, like my self, I prefer to see all the lyrics a once when I am listening to a song, opposed to slowly seeing them. This helps me reflect o the song as a whole instead of in fragments. That is perhaps the reason.
