Black Ops 1 is one of my favorite games. First game I ever played online. To me Black Ops 1 is more than a game. It's a friend that helped me thru very very hard times and also made a lot of my friends really close. And the memories and fun I still think about on the daily

The AK reload will always be iconic. Reused to hell and back, but the silhouette will always be recognizable. Same with the CoD 4 STG44.

Whenever I think MP40, I either think of CoD's MP40 reload, or Return to Castle Wolfenstein's. Shit always has a way of hyping you up for some reason.

MP40 can be reloaded two ways The safe way and the unsafe way Pulling the bolt after inserting the mag is fine if the gun operator doesn't slip up If he does then the gun would fire the first bullet in the chamber and accidentally shoot a friendly Which is why MP40 gets an animation where it gets the bolt locked back first before inserting new mags Same way that MP5 can be reloaded that way but the reasons are much different The mags can't be removed easily if the bolt isn't locked back for MP5

@@guts-141 that's true but that's at least not categorically incorrect like some games for example having a character pull a Thompson drum down out of the gun and insert a new one from the bottom. Plus while that is the safest way to recock the bolt on most open bolt SMGs, things will often be abbreviated in combat in the interest of speed or efficiency. As for the MP5 it doesn't really need the bolt locked back to seat a mag, but with the bolt closed you will definitely need a sharp smack to properly seat the magazine

I could be wrong, but there does look to be a slight difference between the Mk 14 and the M14. The latter actually rocks the magazine into place and angles the barrel end higher when dropping the bolt forward.

There is a bit of very slight differences not only in the animations, but also in the models. If you watch the Dragunov's section of the video, you can clearly see that some animations and models look better than the others, but it's still the same template. Ironically, some models of the Dragunov from later titles look less better than of previous ones'.

I think the biggest crime of Modern Warfare is that they never had an HK slap anywhere. The only CoD game that did it before the more recent ones was Black Ops

I've never noticed it until just now, but I can't unsee it: the Dragunov/SVD reloads look like he's pulling the mag out of the side of his face; like he's reloading with a cigar lmao. That perspective is so funky compared to the M4...

The funny part is, Black ops 4 is the last game to reuse reload animations, it reused some of BO2 and 3 animations, after that CW MW and VG all mostly have new ones, while MWII reuses some of MW19

Waiting for people to say: BrO theRe OnLy sOmE wAYs tO rElOaD A gUn. I recommend you to watch videos about reloading in games for exaple an AK 47 and you will see how many differences you can make while reloading. Iraqi reload, tactical reload, pulling the bolt with left hand/right hand. Pulling the mag by hand. Pulling the mag while you have another mag in hand ect. BTW. I have no problem to see reused animations.

1:41 That Makarov demonstrates that sometimes reusing animations is not the way to go (Mag release on the Makarov is on the bottom of the grip behind the magwell, not a button on the side like most handguns)

Personally i find it more interesting when different studios re-use animations, like Mk14 in IWs CODs and treyarch in their CODs, sequels from same dev/series make sense, cuts down time on each weapon i suppose

Also lets not forget that they still cannot show revolver reload animation done one bullet at a time ( they lower it so you can't see much at all ), they can only manage speed loader animations.

Laziness. With the amount o budget they have annually, they could put 100 animators to create and finish new animations. But they never cared about diversity and practicality of content.

At the end of the day, if an animation works why change it? The AK reload they had for instance is simple and effective, I certainly never had as much of an issue with reused reload animations like most did

For games that only had one to two years of dev time to create a AAA game, it is not surprising seeing re-used animations. To be fair, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Aside from that, I think Black Ops 1 blew the other games out of the water in terms of reload sound effects. May not have been realistic, but they made the guns sound menacing and cool. Black Ops 2 was a step down on that front.

I get the point of reusing some animations but doing it for almost a decade with yearly releases? That's just too much. Combine that with the same movement and shooting mechanics, same gameplay and graphics and you'll see why every "golden era" CoD felt like a map, gun and campaign expansion pack

No animation in MWII is exactly the same as in MW19, they either made a completely new animations or at least changed some things in already existing animation.

I said it countless times in many other videos or forums. Some things you need to change more often than not because they get old, and boring. Not entirely sure it's on the devs' side but they wouldn't be completely out of the issue. It's just that Actishit needed new titles in short periods of time so that's why CoD are always the same.

Even though I personally enjoy MW19/MW22's animations more, the classic ones are truly memorable, and pretty much they gave that tactical feeling. But one thing's for sure, BO1's M1911 is the GOAT.

@davidmason4140 Battlebit was made by 3 people and the guns have different reload animations. If a Indie Dev team of 3 people can make different animations then so can a Triple A company that has 3000 developers.

@@vruxdrossgaming not sure if you noticed but battlebit was made this year and had 6 years of development while the devs for cod had 1 year and they reused a couple animations sometimes for things that were exclusive to the campaign and zombies. so in conclusion 6 years is going to get you a lot but in 1 year you might have to cut corners.

Nothing about CoD is about saving money. Each title's revenue is tens and hundreds of millions each year. As much as they put more effort in marketing tactics, I can't say that the games suffer from lack of budget. It's there, but Actishit prefer to use it otherwise because it's easier.
