how many cards can you have in play on the table? and how many in your hand 5 or 6? only 1 of which can be big correct? unless your a dwarf then you can have a hand full of Big items? what about how many big items can you have on the table in front of you?

2 one handed weapons, or 1 2 handed weapon a helmet, boots and armor are what you can have in play. Any one use, weapon or item cards you can have in your "treasure sack" which is just them lined up on the table but they are not in play, so you do not add their bonuses. any creatures or curses stay in your hand. You can have as many big items as you want, but only one deployed on your character at time.

I noticed that you didn't go back to how to cash in gold for levels unless I just missed it. We own several sets and I agree for new players, the manual takes lots of time and several reads, but as someone who would not normally be interested in this style of game, Munchkin is super fun and I have noticed that friends not in to roleplay/fantasy type card games find it very entertaining as well.

If the card doesn't say anything, then it doesn't occupy any slot. In this case, you can imagine that its basically a companion of sorts that sort of just follows you around and doesn't take up a slot. There are a few items like this such as "Really Important Title". My understanding is that you can have as many of these types of cards as you find (as long as its not labeled as "big").

I reached level 10 with divine intervention (called it out and moved my piece to level 10), and THEN my friend played Duck of Doom to reduce me to level 8. I thought that was illegal because I hit level 10 and the game ended, but my friends insisted he could do that. Was I right or is he?

well gold work the following - 1000 gold worth of cards to the "pile" = 1 level ( may not be winning level) any remaining gold let say you trow down 1200 the 200 is gone there is no gol saving unless you edit the rules to your liking :) as the manual says at all times game host is the outruling factor he or she says what happends anything else?

If you and a person Join to fight a monster and another player sabotages and adds another monster so your only option is to flee. do both players flee twice or just the main person ? And if you flee one monster can you still beat the other monster and gain treasure ?

It's based on the team-strength, so defeating one monster and running from the other is not possible. Simple case of 'all or nothing'. ;) A fight is decided by adding your and your partner's strength (only if someone's helping you, of course ;) ) and weighing it up against the monster(-team). So, if your combined strength isn't enough, you have to run. When you're losing to 2 or more monsters, you have to run from all of them - But you can decide, from which one first. Might become strategically important, if one 'bad stuff' influences the other. Same for your "helper". He has to run from every monster separately, as well, and can decide the order of running. Needless to say, if he fails to run from a monster, he'll have to face it's bad stuff. Helpers don't get a sluggish treatment in any way - After all, it's not really 'munchkinlike' to help each other. ;) Sorry for any grammar-mistakes, I'm a non-native english speaker. :P

for the first question. no you cannot use two classes at the same time unless told other wise by cars effect. and two, yes it depends on your actual gender, unless you decide to be the opposite sex before the gamme starts.

Your hand consists of the cards you are holding that only you can see. The cards you have in play are in front of you and everybody can see them. You can have any combination of cards in your hand regardless of what is in play.

I don't have the rulebook in front of me at the moment, so I'm not entirely sure, but if my memory serves correctly you may have any items in play (for example in order to sell) but you can only use 1 big item at a time.
