REALLY IMPORTANT CARRIE!!!! If your limbs are getting swollen after flights it's because all you blood is going to your feet after being sat down for too long. THIS CAN LEAD TO BLOOD CLOTS WHICH ARE VERY VERY BAD NEWS. If it doesn't go down you should definately go to your GP. To prevent this in future long flights, make sure to walk up and down the isle more and/or there are socks you can buy to help circulation up your legs! Website for more info-www.mayoclinic.org/foot-swelling/expert-answers/faq-20057828

I don't fly, but I have blood circulation problems in my legs and they hurt a lot if I don't use my medical stockings. I've heard of other people who use them when flying.

I'm a nurse and I endorse this message. Blood clots can happen at any age. Wear compression hose and move periodically down the aisles for increased blood flow. Thanks for sharing!

This topic kinda reminds me of a quote I stumbled upon recently, "Don't get so caught up chasing the extraordinary moments that you don't pay attention to the ordinary moments, the moments where, if taken away, you would miss more than anything." It's good to chase the extraordinary and to appreciate it as it comes, but don't forget to continue valuing the ordinary as well. Thanks for sharing, Carrie!

I think like you say it's a balancing act. I often crave something other than the mundane because most of my life is just work and essays and the same events on nights out (uni), but I know that when I have done more extraordinary things in the past (like a month in Peru) I was craving just sitting at home with my cat making my bed. We all need a little extraordinary, and a little mundane.
@Lioness99a5 жыл бұрын
I've got home from a long week at work and crashed on the sofa watching videos but this one has just reminded me that I wanted to put the washing machine on when I got in so that it actually finishes the wash and the dry cycles before I go to bed, so thank you for that! I also enjoy the mundane days in life - people keep asking me what I am going to do with the bank holiday weekend and my reply was 'tidy the house because it's a tip'...
@gembrown845 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love this video! Sometimes being mundane is all you need in life. I work 9-6 every day and when I get home all I want to do is crash and go to bed. I crave the weekends when I can sometimes binge off my social life and just whip the hoover out, clean my house etc!

I love that you value not ending up with a big ego, or getting ahead of yourself. I feel that people with even the most mundane, boring lives can be filled with hubris. But you aren’t, regardless of all the amazing things you accomplish and experience x

Yesssssss!!! Feel exactly the same haha. After working on a cruise ship for 6 months I was craving the mundane! Couldn't wait to be able to go on walks again, drive my car, go to the shops..! Also found myself jealous of people who work 9 - 5 as hours as an Entertainer are all day, all night. Exhausting! Some people don't realise how lucky they are to have evenings and weekends! Xxx

My life definitely isn't mundane at the moment. I'm in a run of the Addams Family, playing Alice Beineke and daily-vlogging backstage. Ah it makes me so proud that 1,5 years ago I came to see you and cried over seeing you in the Addams Family (there's a vlog of that too) and now I'm here, doing it myself, going through stage door everyday and documenting it online. And I couldn't be happier! 💛

This is such a lovely reminder that everyone is normal and craves some normality in their lives, even someone who performs on stage. I have loved these videos so much! Also I relate to the desire to get out the hoover, I have been dying to do it for months but exams have got in the way!

Maybe it's only on the way home because you were on your feet walking around LA/Disney so the plane ride makes them swell? I cant think of any other reason unless the plane took a longer route home and those extra few minutes did it

Could the swollen ankles having anything to do with your water and sodium intake? I know when I'm away from home my diet changes considerably. Restaurant food has a lot more salt than I usually use. Plus, a glass of ice water is not just a few steps away. Now on to more mundane things... lol. So while you appreciate and, dare I say, crave the mundane at times, nobody needs the "mundane" to the extent of scrubbing poo off of their drive! Bless your sweet heart... that is all sorts of exceptional icky and not mundane at all, but pretty much horrific! I'd gladly stick to laundry and doing the dishes! I'm glad you have the exciting and amazing to help the mundane balance things out. We don't want you getting too big for your britches!

Maybe you've been eating much sodium while in the US, with that our circulation get compromised explaining why you swollen last 2 trips home.
