agree about the history aspect of it, but the condition of most of the stadium is awful. Even on the "exective lounges" at Sir.Alex Stand, walking from that shabby smoked out lounge through the jail-like hallways into the stadium is not the standard our club should have after all this success in the past. The cost of 100% refurbish would probably be same price and not as good result. I not saying I wanna get rid of all Trafford as it is the most amazing stadium, but its gonna be a hard choice to make. At some point we need renewal, like Real Madrid are doing :) The new Bernabeu will be crazy, and option to to close the roof.. think of that insane atmosphere..

#GlazersOut - No One owns the fans, they need sponsors, Elliot Management has socials and a Media Enquiry page, and Poliety tell them GlazersOut no matter what. The Fans will not accept any Glazer involvement going forward. The Fans would rather lose top 4 than carry on with the Glazers. There will be Game disruptions and Sponsors will be informed about how they feel.

@S. The logical option isn't always what's best, but sometimes preserving history and maintaining your roots is. So it costs more money, so what... These people have plenty of it. It's never really a matter of money anyhow but more about what the greedy pigs at the top VALUE. Building a completely new "futuristic" stadium along with soulless oil money owners coming into the mix would change the very essence of what United has been since its inception. What do you value more is the real question...

I personally like the expanded version (option A) more. It keeps the distinctive truss roof intact while adding an upper tier to the main stand, making the stadium more symmetrical and increasing the seating to close to 100K. However, option C makes the most business sense i think: a brand new stadium plus the redevelopment of the neighborhood. We need a new stadium with supporting amenities/infrastructures to remain competitive off field and which would last at least a century, just like the old ground will when it finishes its job.

I'm an American from Green Bay and we have the oldest stadium in the NFL. Option A is what they did to Lambeau Field and of the three options here that looks to be the best. I dig how the stadium is built above the railroad tracks and expanded seating should put Old Trafford at 90,000 or more. Also, the organizations gets to hang on to the legacy and history of their stadium.

As a United fan from VIetnam that has never been to Old Trafford, i also like option A but with some suggestions i would like to add: 1/ Transform Stretford End to the largest single-tier stand. (Imagine massive tifo our die hard fans can assemble) 2/ Relocate disabled section (it's so inhuman to put them behind the goal) 3/ Bring back player tunnel to the center of stadium with modernized interior but the external brick look of the dugout must be preserved at all costs 4/ Need entire new roof design with modern, clean look, less sloped, no more hideous structured-exposed and retractibility. 5/ To maintain the "English ground" spirit, the new external must avoid the generic bowl-shaped design that makes the "New Trafford" look like an NFL stadium. 6/ A new state of the art museum 7/ Although the 360 giant screen (like SoFi stadium) is impressive, i personally think it only fits to NFL atmotsphere. I prefer the corner screen. 8/ Add creative attractions (Tottenham skywalk is a good example) 9/ The Bridgewater canal in front of Sir Alex Ferguson stand must be cleaned.

I would vote for an option A. But only if it includes not just expanding, but also improving all sides. All of our stands need some care. Expanding won't get rid of the leaks. I'd like to keep old Trafford looking like old Trafford, but let's restore it, get rid of the leaks, and renovate the inside to include a wide selection of fan experiences like Tottenham has, they have several bars etc in their stadium. Let's dl something similar. Even better would be including a bar/restaurant that's not just open on game days. Imagine a United fan visits Manchester for work, or another reason, oh no, no match at OT this week, no problem, you can still have an OT experience and visit the United pub and restaurant, and even watch the game. I think there's so many ways to improve OT, and all these look great, but I think the best is expand and restore.

Option A - Mirror the North Stand on the South side with No 3rd tier. The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time. Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation. Take Note: The expansion should not exceed the rail track. We feel in 18 month to 2 years copying Real Madrid project with the right people it can be achieved in line with progress on the pitch! Worth a view, please share!

Man Utd's Old Trafford stadium that a bit if TLC won't cure. All it needs is the Upgrade of the Sir Bobby Charlton's Stand with a 2nd tier to complete the original design & the removal of the 3rd tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson's Stand & replaced by TV Screens for all 4 corners. We also want a levelled new Roof + modern refurbishment of the rest of the stadium to warrant a 90K capacity in comfort. SBCS 25K + SAFS 25K + SES 20K + ES 20K = 90K. Take Note: The expansion should not exceed the rail track. Old Trafford known as 'The Theatre of Dreams' unique in style is the Super Bowl of stadiums & is potentially The best Stadium in the country, possibly the world. So Option A - Mirror the North Stand on the South side with No 3rd tier.

This video is on repeat. Incidentally, I imagined the south stand having more sky boxes for prawn sandwichers and relieving the seating in the north stand to improve the leg room - still would be larger capacity than the 75k capacity and the external appearance would look similar. Option A + a super upgrade. Increase the stadium capacity to something around 90k, build a new roof (higher than the option B), a walkable platform over the stands and a giant panoramic window to the city. Old Trafford has a wonderful view of the City and that opportunity should be exploited in a expansion. I can imagine MUTV doing interviews with new players with the skyline of Manchester in the background. Manchester United own the land arround the stadium, enough land to build a smaller stadium for the woman's team and academy and 8-10 football pitches. I say we build our training ground there. All of this will probably be cheaper than building a new stadium, it would look amazing and we keep and transform our beautiful Old Trafford in something that respect our tradition, history and it's original. No abstract totally futuristic facade.

It’s almost 30 yrs old and should not be rendered obsolete. Just needs TLC. But Option A is the one I’d love to see. Whack another 8k spectators on to the Charlton end - but have sky boxes near the top for corporate. The external aspect will look the same - then reduce the capacity of the north stand slightly to help with better sight lines, fan comfort etc.. I’m guessing the capacity could be 85-90k then. Somewhere between A and B would be right I think.. extend over the railway but add a new modern roof and refurbish and modernise the whole place. 1.5 billion should do it. Do what they did in Madrid but with a more traditional external aesthetic. Also, sell the areas around the ground to developers for retail units, cafe's, cinema, music venue, museum, public gardens etc to create jobs for people, help the economy and put money back in to the refurb.

Completely agree. Plus the heritage factor is somewhat overstated. Old Trafford has been amended so many times over the years. There's always change. So long as it's within the vicinity of the existing stadium it's good enough. Almost every team has modernised their stadium over the last 20/30 years or so, with a huge number moving entirely. Arsenal West Ham Man City Spurs (probably the best move) Bolton Southampton Sunderland Middlesbrough Coventry Leicester Brighton Derby County All moved I believe. Everton are moving soon. The key thing here isn't whether the ground is rebuilt or improved it's about retaining what has made Old Trafford the best stadium in the world for decades. Apart from the 3rd tier of the North Stand, you get a great view from anywhere inside OT and you feel close to the action. I've never been to a stadium that holds over 80k that's any good whatsoever. For example the new Wembley is terrible just like the Nou Camp it' lacks the ability to create a tremendous atmosphere. You don't want people having no space to sit in like Anfield. OT is already tight enough. What IS needed is a big section of safe standing for a minimum of 12,000 slap bang in the middle of The Stretford End. Another area of safe standing is required for around 8,000 slap bang in the middle of The Scoreboard. Surely having safe standing can use less space and therefore allow more people to be close to the action elsewhere in the stadium? They need to employ the finest architects around and think outside the box to ensure that 100,000 can watch the match with no barriers to viewing, not be too far from the action. This will not be easy. It might not be possible. If it isn't I'd much rather have an amazing stadium that only holds 75,000 than a poor fan experience that holds 120,000. Now let's get rid of the Glazers. #GlazersOut
