I have both Paul Rubin’s and mungyo sets I love them both, mungyo are harder and better for fine details but I love the softness of the Paul Rubin’s. The one thing I will say is that Mungyo has consistent quality but the Paul Rubin’s are really inconsistent quality especially on the darker colours. Some feel like butter but a couple feel like glue sticks.

Yay you tried Mungyo~! I just ordered 120 set from Gmarket yesterday. Indeed both Mungyo and Paul Rubens are good in their own ways. But I like Mungyo better, because it gives me more control and therefore easier to use. The white in Mungyo might not be great for highlight, but I think it's good for blending.

Nice :D, you have to tell me then if you are happy with the colors in the 120 set

@@color-dive sure, I will let you know via Instagram DM when I get it. I ordered a different set without the metallics and fluorescents though.

Thank you for the review and sharing your thoughts. I just bought the gallery handmade a few weeks ago but haven’t had a chance to try them out yet. Next I think I’ll probably try the ones you bought.

I LOVE my 48 set of Mungyo Gallery! I'm so happy you have the Gallery set now! I haven't used them in a long time because I haven't been able to figure out a way to "set" them (even if just setting them slightly since I obviously know oil paints and pastels take ages to actually 'dry') without using a spray fixative, because I can't be bothered to have to go outside just to spray a background I made for a page and wait. Not my cup of tea lol. I've seen videos of people setting their oil pastels with matte or gloss glazing liquids. I have Golden's Satin Glazing Liquid I might try. Though I think I remember now that I did try that before and it just ended up smudging the oil pastels. Do you set your oil pastels and if so, what do you do/use?

I have the Mungyo pastels. I set them with VO5 "firm" hairspray, it works 100%.

Excellent review! I am expecting my Sennelier 24 set later this week. Do you have Van Gogh oil pastels, too?
@color-dive2 жыл бұрын
Thank you... :D. Oh they are going to be great... I have 2 or 3 of Van Gogh, I think I tried them out in my Haul from Holland....But I was thinking of buying the whole set because they have light fast information on them but they are not as good as Sennelier/Mungyo or even Paul Rubens at least not from what I remember but I will buy the whole set and try them out. Did you try them?

Been 1 year, but what is your opinion on Mungyo soft oil pastels VS Mont Marte oil pastels? I am choosing to buy one 😊
