ONE of his best performance, more then 50 years ago! Thank you for sharing! Love it! He always had black singers, Whitney Houstan's mother Sissy was one of them! (the one he shocked) 👏👏 🇳🇱

My Husband was a professional musician, his dream was to play for Elvis! But he said, I don't know if I could keep up with him! The band never really knew what he was going to do, and neither did Elvis!

An Elvis concert was the place to be....he was fun and the band and orchestra and back up singers had to keep watching him .They knew he was unpredictable and would often pick songs to sing that were out of order so they had to be on top of their game.....the were amazing and worked well together.

Yes if you want to see Elvis really get down watch Polk salad Annie from his 1970 performance in Vegas live, if you want to see majestic Elvis watch American trilogy from his aloha from Hawaii concert live in 1973

Women were no doubt jealous of his microphone during that Polk Salad Annie performance. Lol

His playful side is really on display in that one, from him ad libbing a line under his breath to his teasing his backup singer to his cracking up several times to his wildly escalating duels with his drummer--that was Elvis having fun, and the audience loving every minute of it.

Great reaction brother, only two performers back in the day that had that kind of stage presents it was Elvis and the great James Brown. Elvis and James were very close friends, James called Elvis his soul brother. What a pair they were. Subbed.

James Brown stayed with Elvis all night while he was in his coffin. He loved Elvis like a brother.

James Brown, The Godfather of Soul, loved Elvis. As others have said they were very close friends. And James Brown spoke at Elvis's funeral. Very poignant. They considered each other as brothers almost.

Yeah man, that's one of the great performances. It's just amazing how much he in a grates with both the audience and his band. I'm a musician that is played in bands forever and I've been lucky to play in really tight bands. That's why I can recognize how great he was at that. He's as much a family der as he is a performer for the audience. And when it goes over there and fox with one of his crew in the Sweet Inspirations, it's just Priceless. I've seen a lot of rehearsal footage on KZbin and he gets along with them great and they love him. If you haven't done it yet, and you want to see a really operatic Elvis, you might check out his life cover of the Simon and Garfunkel Song, Bridge Over Troubled Water. Again from right around this time or maybe it was the 1973 Hawaii Aloha special or something. It's just amazing. And apparently Paul Simon saw him perform this live in Madison Square Garden and basically threw up his hands and said, well, it's Elvis's song now!

I love how for at least the last half of the performance he repeats the same few lyrics but because he was such a great entertainer no one notices. I've watched countless reactions to this and I get lost in the performance myself and find myself not aware every time.

It surprises me how many people miss his ad-lib coke reference at 1:53 "Shove it up your nose!"
@ornellabarbaro38612 жыл бұрын
Are you sure that that’s what he meant or was it something silly that just rhymed ? Maybe if you said it these day’s and referring to cocaine it would be acceptable but back then you’d be losing your career in a split second. 🤔 So for sure he wasn’t referring anything to shoving cocaine up your nose. So yah most people understand that times were different.
