This range just became available online in the US. I bought the Munton's Hazy first, mainly for the wife. She loves the hazy stuff! I'm sure I'll enjoy too. But I have my eye on this West Coast next. Great way to shorten the brew day and produce a fantastic beer yes?! I've always enjoyed your channel.👍😎Cheers! 🍻🍺

I started my homebrewing journey with Muntons kits - always been excellent. Don't really use kits anymore but will definitely look out for the milk stout!

I will probably try this kit. I recently brewed the St Peter's IPA kit which is brewed to 32 pints at 5.5% ABV. I followed the instructions exactly, but the result was an okay, quite nice beer - but it did not have anywhere near the hoppy, citrusy punch I would have expected from an IPA. It came with a sachet of Goldings hop powder and it probably also had some hop extract in with the malt, but I actually think it tasted similar to the Geordie Scottlish Export 1.5kg can and a kilo of sugar kits that I have done - just a bit stronger in alcohol though - so the St Peter's IPA was a bit of a disappointment I personally found - the commercial version in bottles is much hoppier in taste - the kit version was too malty and way down on the hops for me. Munton's make the kits for St Peter's and the cheaper one tin Geordie kits you can buy in Wilko's.

Would you try replacing the sachet with 10 - 20 g of Goldings pellets?

Sounds like a great kit, as far as kits go. I've only tried Coopers kits before and I've never managed to get something even drinkable. I do all grain myself but I can certainly see the appeal of a kit if it's good.
@beerloverTV3 жыл бұрын
Yeah same for me i like this if i am going to save time with a kit it may aswell be a good one. Alot will say you can brew it cheaper all grain but you cant buy time.

Hello, do you remember how long you had it bottled before you tried it? Thanks.

Normally for hoppy beers i drink fairly fresh. But testing a bottle a week after at least two weeks is a good rule.

So nowhere near the 12-20 ebc then?

I've mostly been brewing from grain lately, but im gonna give the flagship range a go I think

Did you just throw the hops in and filter with the bag? I'm torn between doing that or bagging the hops....
@beerloverTV3 жыл бұрын
Yep just loose. And the bag over the end of syphon tube when racking off.

I have this one now in the fermenter so just one question please How much sugar or drops in a bottle did you use? I use the coopers so each drop is three quarters of a spoon Thanks and can’t wait to try it 👍🍺🍺
@beerloverTV3 жыл бұрын
I tend to use half a tea spoon of brown sugar in all my beers. I found drops to not work for me coopers or mangrove
