It really captured what it's like to see him in concert, and the audience is LOUD! The CD still runs great too after hundreds of plays! I've also seen him in concert twice, once in 2008 and the last time in 2011 on his 64th birthday and he and his band are one of the two top live performances I've ever seen. Y’know, I wonder if anyone else has mentioned this already, but having just seen “Rocketman”-in addition to loving a lot of these songs for decades-has gotten me to thinking about Bernie Taupin. I wonder what it was like being a struggling lyrics writer, hoping you’d just meet a competent composer who would want to turn your ideas into song-and winding up finding a mini pop Mozart who just hit ‘em out of the park again and again, whether they were deep or “silly.” Somehow, I don’t think even winning the lottery would measure up to that experience. I’m not trying to imply that Taupin isn’t gifted in his own right-and clearly Elton loves his work. But still . . . wow.
