Sh0o7erMCTV He did have a great falsetto but I like that he recognizes his limits and doesn't strain his voice and sound horrible. I hate when musicians do that as they get older. Paul McCartney does it and he sounds terrible anymore to begin with.

It really captured what it's like to see him in concert, and the audience is LOUD! The CD still runs great too after hundreds of plays! I've also seen him in concert twice, once in 2008 and the last time in 2011 on his 64th birthday and he and his band are one of the two top live performances I've ever seen. The other is Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Y’know, I wonder if anyone else has mentioned this already, but having just seen “Rocketman”-in addition to loving a lot of these songs for decades-has gotten me to thinking about Bernie Taupin. I wonder what it was like being a struggling lyrics writer, hoping you’d just meet a competent composer who would want to turn your ideas into song-and winding up finding a mini pop Mozart who just hit ‘em out of the park again and again, whether they were deep or “silly.” Somehow, I don’t think even winning the lottery would measure up to that experience. I’m not trying to imply that Taupin isn’t gifted in his own right-and clearly Elton loves his work. But still . . . wow.

Bernie was a gifted writer and John was a gifted composer. They needed each other. John couldn’t write lyrics to save his life. Lol

Seen Elton 3 times live. In the past decade. First 2 times were twice in 2 weeks. In Toronto and then Ottawa. A couple years later back in Toronto again. Love this song.

Saw this performed on the original Yellow Brick Road tour...the whole house rocked with joy-- full house lights on! So great see all 20,000 happy faces swaying with the clap in a loving groove.

I still remember way back when this song first hit the airwaves. It was HOT! Then when he appeared on Soul Train, I went NUTZ! Elton's portfolio of songs are timeless. Still get chills when I hear this. Great stuff!
