@@2vcrew782 First of all Mallory Beach will NEVER be forgotten in this story. As far as who was really driving the boat there is likely only ONE person that knows for sure and that's Connor Cook, since he was the one next to Paul near the steering wheel. A couple of the others "might" know but 100% Connor does. Not sure if criminal case has been closed or not. If it has the civil case will still go forawrd because the OWNER of the boat (alex) is likely responsible for damages no matter who was driving the boat if they had permission (not stolen). Bottom line is Alrx Murdaugh's estate will have to pay up a few million from either insurance or out of proceeds when property is sold. Wont bring Mallory back but it would give more closure to the family and likely set up some charity in Mallory's name (RIP). Alex calls him after the 911 call and says he did so, because he didn't want to be alone out there. What parent would call his son's best friend to come out there and view that as bad as they describe it? You would not want them to see that, nor would you want them to be out there where a killer could still be lurking. YOU would not want to be still standing out there in the dark with a killer on the loose. You would have fled. Alex called him to try to find out what he knew, because he had seen all those texts on the phone when he went over and picked up his body after the murder. He states that he picked up the phone and put it back down. Would you be thinking about a phone while witnessing that? No! Not unless you were using it to call 911...which he did not. Thank goodness Rogan didn't go to be with him, because he might be dead now too.

If he could get Roro (sorry, I can’t help it) on the phone to go over there and add some more drama to the situation AND find out how what Paul was saying leading up to being killed/start manipulating the narrative (like he did with Blanca) that would have helped him a lot. I know people say that folks who are traumatized do weird things and I do believe Alex was incredibly traumatized by what he did but to act like he wasn’t sure if they were dead when the cops came? That was ridiculous. Taking their PULSE after you delivered head shots to both, Maggie being multiple times. Give me a break. Paul the little detective as his mum Maggie called him, solved his own murder. His video was evidence to prove Alex was there at the time. Alex tried to worm his way out of it then finally admitted he was there. A man who's lost his son and wife would never lie about his whereabouts. A person telling the truth tells, a lier sells. Glad Alex was found Guilty. Heartbreaking to watch Paul's friend on the stand. A truly good man. I wish him the best.

@franziskani Жыл бұрын
They kept the dogs during night in the kennel, so they would do no mieschief (like hunting in the woods or having run ins with hogs). During day they were often brought to the house. Maggie and I think also her son loved dogs. I wonder if AM injured the dog because he wanted them at that place and during night ? In the kennel area he could rinse down his cover to get rid of most of the blood and tissue. When he then showered and handled garments, shoes weapons there would be LESS DNA and tiny particles on them to begin with. So there was less risk of some of that evidence ending up in the house, the shower, his car, .... It was a kinda weird idea to arrange for the killings in the kennel area. The dogs should have barked if there were strangers. But there were no witnesses (and he planned to kill both family members) to report the odd absence of barking - and on the other hand the ability to hose himself and his cover and shoes down was a major advantage. Unexpecteldly the worker that routinely cleaned the kennels twice with a hose tripped AM. After Dale the worker had been informed about the murders and when he had come over he saw instantly that someone had used the hose AFTER he had put it away in a specific manner. (Last routine use around 4:30 pm, a few hours before the shootings). Whoever did it wanted it to look like the hose was hanging there since the last routine use. And there were puddles of water (should have been dried up) and they were not in the right places (where they form when the worker did the routine cleanings). Strong circumstantial evidence. Killers from outside would not hose themselves down and they would certainly not bother to put up the hose again (winding it into coils). They would maybe try to steal something fast and then flee the scene.

And then Alex thought better of it. When you only "delete" data, it is easy to recover it. "deleting" means the memory space is freed up to be overwritten with other data. But even if that memory space is being used, and then it is overwritten with other data several times - skilled technicians (and certainly police and FBI) can restore the older content. The magnetic signals gets weaker with each overwriting, but they can be found (and the layers can be distinguished). If you really want to delete content there are programs (for computers for instance) that write a random pattern of 0 and 1 over the whole memory. And then again, and again, and again. When it is overwritten by white noise several times the magnetic signal under it (for the data you do not want to be recoverable) will be so weak that even experts cannot restore it.
@franziskani Жыл бұрын
So deleting would be nothing but highly suspicious. If Paul had sent a video or uploaded it, it would be highly suspicious that it was not on the device, and it would be easy to find missing content. Either by cross checking (contacting the provider - with a warrant, checking out with friends, checking their usual social media platforms). - Likely forensic technicians can also retrace the last actions on a device (like the action of deleting content). But even if the text / video was not yet on a server and no one had received it (Paul had not time to send or to upload it), authorities could easily recover content from the intact device (at least if the memory was undamaged) despite someone pressing a delete button. Only if the devices would vanish or be destroyed beyond repair (think high temperatures, using chemicals like acid, or chlorine, water, smashing it into pieces) it would be a major advantage if the data was already online. The physical storage would be destroyed or absent - and could not help with investigation. I wonder why Alex did not just take the phones of wife and husband. First thing immediately removing the SIM cards and batteries. Then getting rid of the smashed devices (after having destroyed them chemically as well). No one could prove that the alleged killers from outside had not stolen them, and if Paul had recorded something that contradicted Alex' narrative & timeline but had not gotten around to upload it, then Alex would be good. If it was online already - oh well, he could not help that anyway. I wonder if Alex had even realized that Paul was recording, Paul stood close to the dog and the kennel, his front towards the kennel, the back may have obstructed the view of him holding the phone. Not sure how good the light was in reality. We can hear the voice of Alex but maybe he was not close enough to see what Paul and Maggie were exactely doing. It would beg the question which type of murderer would bother to delete content on a phone. The outsider doing a brutal mafia style killing or a home invasion gone wrong or some crazy meth heads ? They would maybe steal the device or just take it if they suspected they were recorded - but they certainly would not take the time to delete videos. It would strongly point towards Alex Murdaugh. WHY - when he allegedly was desperate and had just found his murdered family members - would he immediately delete content on a phone ? He had to take the phone from the son whose brain was all over the place. For all he knew the killer or the killers were still lurking around ..... Of course if the son had a code that he did not know then Alex (or the hypothetical killers from outside) would need to know how to break that. it can be done, but I do not know how, and maybe special devices and programs are needed for such a break. I do not think Alex would have known. Which would also have kept him from checking out if and what was there (on the device or even uploaded) - IF he had access to the phone and if he had enough time he either he could have watched it so he could align the recording with his narrative. Or trying to hide the phone until he would have time to destroy it and to get rid of it (which would not help much if the content was already online - except that he - in theory - could have changed his story. If think in praxis he did not even have time, let alone the presence of mind to pull that off. It is one thing to plan a murder and another thing to improvise after the adrenaline from killing wife and son had flooded his system, and he was also a drug user. It is like a Hitchcock thriller . The murder being tripped by little things he did not foresee.

My opinion for what it is worth is he planned on getting rid of Maggie and Paul was collateral damage, he did not know that Paul was gonna be there. why has all this not been brought up.
