As a "I need a quick learn for this song" you nailed it man. No long intro. No baby walk with every pick and note. KZbin needs more like this

This is a really good lesson, your emphasis on using dynamics to pull the tune out of the chords is great, thanks man awesome job!

Hey man, Just wanted to say you are AWESOME and very helpful! It's great you take the time to do these tutorials, because you sure don't have to. I can't believe someone would actually get upset with you, GOOD GOD! I played at a wedding last weekend and I had to play "Swept Away." I agreed to it before I attempted to play it. Thank God for your tutorial, you did a great job and I don't know how I would have learned it without you. THANK YOU!!!

Nice job man! I like it on the 2nd fret, but there's no doubt you got it better than me. I appreciate the lesson. This is a new favorite song of mine, Avett Brothers are song writing masters! Keep up the great posts.

I thank you for this lesson! Maybe the best on youtube for this song. Next time you make more of these, please explain more what you are playing. It's really not that easy trying to figure it out from a low quality video. Keep on going! :)

I don't know what all the whining is about, just cause you can't learn the song without a 56 year old music teacher writing it on a blackboard and holding your hand. I learned the whole song form this vid. Thanks Dude!

Hi mate! I want to ask you about the 2:15 finger position. I have many problems with my pinky finger on the 4th fret so I decided to watch the video of the Avett. Exactly in the second 0:02 Scott shows a different position... any solution? Anyway, you have done such a great work! thansk for sharing!

You did a really nice job on this. Anyone complaining shouldn't be trying to learn this song anyway as it's clearly above their current ability. Thanks for putting this out there. I'd love to hear you play and sing it all the way through!

is there a alternate tuning here? I'm playing the same frets with a capo on 3, but it sounds wrong, when I play the notes on different strings, it sounds fine.

@MattRives76 I'm sorry for the bad comments, I was just very upset at the time after trying to learn it for 1 Hour. I know he plays it really good and accurat, but when he first decides to make a Instructional Video he should do it step for step so people can understand which notes he plays.

U DONT UNDERSTAND HOW FUCKING DIFICULT THIS SONG IS!! When you are first making an instruction video make it proper! Dont just play in your tempo without teaching, you are saying: Do this and that, then you play a riff. You expect us to learn that, once i have struggled through your "Instruction" video I will make a Guitar Lesson so people understand how to play it, btw the first notes of the intro is wrong.
