Amazing film...cried my eyes out at Kevin Bacon acting so so well as his wife played the Booker in this xxx

Apparently the movie got all but ignored for awards consideration due to a nagging controversy accusing it of playing recklessly fast and loose with the actual historical facts in a way that was claimed went over the line of dramatic license and into being obscenely sensationalistic at the ruthless expense of real people's reputations. But I've always liked the film on its face and love Christopher Young's beautiful music. Guess just be aware that it's not necessarily the gospel truth to go get all riled up over a century later citing its vivid depictions of sadistically inhumane brutalization of one particularly put upon prisoner. Supposedly that couldn't possibly be so accurate to reality. And the character Bacon so brilliantly portrayed was in reality a much more despicable sort of criminal. I forget now what all is said to be pure fiction. Oh well. Still an affecting fiction then. Other than the script allegedly being so contrived it's an enthralling drama made with a lot of extraordinarily skilled talent on full display. I write too much. Pardon.
