As an ex circle track racer I got to the point where I was questioning spending every night after regular work till midnight-one in the morning working on my car for 20 minutes of racing on Saturday. The racing part was a blast but all the work up to it was affecting other parts of my life. Especially after my kids came along.

Chief still has his family and he always will. He just keeps them off the show. It may have caused him his marriage but marriages fail 80% of the time regardless of if you’re a racer or not. Sometimes people fall out of love but if you follow them both on KZbin it seems like they are both doing well and like they are both happy and satisfied with their lives. That’s really all that matters too. I’ve never heard anyone call Chief a bad father or anything even close to that. He just keeps them private and honestly I don’t blame him because I’d hide my personal life and kids from the show with them being so young too.
