Awesome job with all the different accents! Easy to visualize each character. How many film versions of this story have been made? Ive seen two.

It’s probably just me, but I don’t have the desire to hear a fake accent. Just read the words and my imagination can do the rest. Again, maybe it’s just me.

Too much rewriting for my taste. Much of the colour of the original is lost.

So Miss Devenham is about 28 - referred to as a girl. Ugh, so many books and shows do this. Bleeaaacchh Otherwise, classic story & film!
@cacambo589 Жыл бұрын
"Girl" either meant a female not yet an adult OR a female not yet married. People of both sexes used this convention which no longer applies, just as you used "Miss" but today we'd say "Ms.". Don't let a bygone convention spoil your day.

@@cacambo589Actually I always liked being referred to as miss. After all I was young and I was unmarried. It’s simply a correct description. To me this is all just a problem of people who are offended by everything and even WANT to find offense in innocent expressions.
