At 20:05, I believe the cause of death says “Flux” which is dysentery (at least I think!). I really enjoy history and watching your visits to old cemeteries. 😊

It was also called...."Bloody Flu", from dysentery. It also leads to dehydration, which probably ultimately killed the child.

Lots of Irish, Scotts Irish and Scottish people in the hills out here, Montana as well. Because of the Ohio river and Rail Roads being built. I always wonder what the Irish in the Old World think about the American-Irish in the New World? (Are we Savages? 🤪Do we talk funny?😏 ETC, to a Irishman? I also wonder what the French think about the French Swamp People in the swamps of Louisiana🤣😂😁 It was a very hard life starting in the New World. Not so much now. Guess that is what they fought so hard for.

Leo, you have chosen such a beautiful cemetery to visit. I am certainly glad that you did not walk up the nearly road to this cemetery. I noted that there are some very old grave markers. The coal mining statute is simply awesome. I don't believe you have seen anything like this statute in other cemeteries. Cute little lantern. Thanks for sharing this interesting story.

Leo you really do need to get you a cemey bag. Sn old backpack eith a couple brushes, atleast one with soft bristles. A bottle of water, some kind of powder, not talc! Or snything that will damage the stone & i carry some small clippers to clear the stone & i always carry silk flowers to put on the graves. Just some dollar tree flowers, the biggest bunch i can find snd i cut each flower off & put them in s plastic bag. I usually carry a vouple plastic bags for trash and one for momentoes. I carry chsngey, pennies, nicklez etc to let them know famneas there

I spent about 1/3 of my life in WV. 1/3 in MT and 1/3 in WA. All so different and all so much the same. For one reason. Mountain people.

You need your flashlight. Believe it or not, even during the daytime, just putting the flashlight on the stone, you read the stone clearly. Especially, when it is so washed out and old! Great job your both doing! What I want to say to the viewers, is it doesn't take anything to hit the "Like Button." If you're going to watch the video, why not like!?! Thanks, ya'll for a nice video. Very nice cemetery. It's a shame, all those markers and no way to know who they are. Of course there are many, maybe thousands scattered all across the country with no marker at all. Thank ya'll for all your efforts to tour these cemeteries and all the research to get and provide the information on these folks. Must have been a tough area, sure was a lot of murders. God bless ya'll for all you do. And stay safe on your travels to these locations.

You have one of the very best KZbin channels! Thank you for posting! Frank Phillips is listed in my family tree (10th cousin). Brief Life History Deputy Frank Phillips was shot and killed while questioning two brothers who were drunk and causing a disturbance in front of a local business. When he asked the two what they were doing they became belligerent. A struggle ensued in which the two brothers drew weapons and shot Deputy Phillips. Despite being mortally wounded, he was able to return fire and seriously wounded one of the suspects. The other brother was taken into custody. Deputy Phillips was survived by his wife, child, mother, two brothers, and four half-sisters.
