I first remember Mariet Hartley from those Polaroid commercials she used to to do with James Garner in the 70's. For years people used to actually think they were married. A few years later she went on to star in "Goodnight Beantown" with Bill Bixby.

@@shaz2761 You'll find one of the explanations by looking Keanu Reeves, who isn't what you call a brilliant actor but keeps getting steady work: he made his reputation and kept getting roles because he showed up on time, knew his lines, didn't cause drama, and put in the work. Cassidy was bipolar and an alcoholic, which made him a higher risk investment. If you're running a business, do you want the average employee who you can depend on, or the person who is better at the job but is much more likely to not show up, make a mistake that ruins the business, or shows up stumbling drunk?

Some things are just meant to be. Arnold Schwarzenegger will always be the Terminator, Christopher Reeve Superman, Jackie Gleason Sherriff Buford T Justice, and Peter Falk in my humble opinion will forever be the one and only Lieutenant Columbo, Homicide division.

@@davidscott8600 l agree, l don't think anybody could have played the part of Columbo any better than Peter Falk. They teased the viewer many times with Mrs. Columbo who surprise surprise suddenly had to visit her sister. Of course the real 'Mrs Columbo' Shera Danese appeared and played a great part amongst many great actors who probably were thrilled to act in this great series.

You don't know much about typewriters. Sure, when they're brand new the finished products will be identical, but over time typewriters begin to have unique identifiers, like dropped letters and whatnot.

Typewriters are pretty complex machines and letter spacing will differ based on letter striker alignment even from the factory, and differences will become greater over time. Also, wear and tear on the letters on the strikers from the typing technique of the main user, as well as ink clogging on those letters over time will make unique impressions on the paper.
