Richard Corben is simply incredible, completely unique, badass style and I love the look he achieved on his older colour/shaded work. For the older stuff I sincerely hope they are faithful to the original presentation.

Also, what was really enjoyable and wonderful about this particular video post was listening to Omar's unbridled enthusiasm and hear his appreciation of the man and his art. Corben is one of the biggest masters of the medium. So glad we'll be getting this Library, hopefully there'll be many volumes coming (at least another two are ready, Den and Den 2)

Richard Corben‘s art haunted and captivated me when I first discovered him in Twisted Tales, from Pacific Comics back around 1982. His style was like nothing I had seen before. So glad that Dark Horse is coming out with this collection of his work!

The newer Murky World color work was mostly digitally colored by his daughter, Beth. Most likely she mimicked his earlier airbrush style. Supposedly, he finished or almost finished another comic called Dimwood before he passed, but haven't heard anything yet about it being printed.

Immortalized in the animated film, Heavy Metal. He did a great Hulk mini series, but they stupidly didn't let him airbrush everything in neon green.

The way Omar describes this as being heavy metal and you're thrown in with a feeling of having to be caught up which can be fun I guess, is probably a positive way you can view the one negative of the comic "Kali". I loved Kali but that leaves you wishing there was more story, but perhaps that too could be its own metal. Just a badass story about a badass girl not expected to be taken too seriously, though i'd love to see the world go further.

Am stoked by Dark Horse doing their best to collect the Corben library. Cartoonists seem uniquely frustrated in having their work published in organized definitive editions. I mean Alex Toth is universally acknowledged masterclass and Good Luck getting comprehensive series of his work. Anyway…God Bless Dark Horse & the great Richard Corben.

Artists are never fully appreciated in their home country, and this appears to be no exception to that sad rule of thumb. I know of quite many editions of far superior quality to this one. Richard Corben was a true artist and Dark Horse remains pure commercial crap
