Murphy Bed repair in our Rockwood MiniLite

The wife and I have a 2018 Minilite 2104S with the murphy bed. I actually had ours rebuilt and replaced six of screws on each side of the hinge to the aluminum cross member with bolts. The screws were coming loose over time and was concerned that it would not hold up with the weight of the bed with the long trips we were taking. Like you, our six years of ownership has witnessed several projects to fix the build issues.

I feel your pain!! We have a bunch more videos coming out on the repairs that I have had to make. Sometimes trying to keep up on all the maintenance that a travel trailer needs can be exhausting! Please keep an eye out for more of our maintenance content

Thank you for watching and the compliment. I wasn't impressed with how much Rockwood missed in the final inspection. Stay tuned, I have more maintenance videos to come as I fix other things that were missed or poorly built.

Sad to see such poor quality straight from the manufacturer. Some wood glue would help to make the repairs stronger. 👍

I agree!! I also think that some thicker wood under the mattress would help. I understand that they are trying to save on weight, but that's where thicker materials pay off

We are having problems getting the bed up! Looks like a shake on the side got bend then broke off. How do we find a replacement?

If you're referring to the mechanical piece that locks the bed in place, I would go to a local dealer and ask what can be done. I would have to physically look at the issue in order to see how to fix the issue.
