You guys are geniuses! How did you guys know how to wire everything? That bed just amazes me.

Thank you so much, Victron the company that makes the electrical system has lots of information online. William is super talented and put it all together. Thank you for watching!

@@HighlyPaidHandyman Thank you for the information! You and William are great together! Can we get another Whitney Houston performance 🎭 lol 😆 in the future? I will look into Victron for sure! I am eager to see the next build! I'm going to try crowd funding sites to get money to do one myself since I just got done taking care of legal issues. Nothing criminal!

Wow. Amazing! As asked below I'd love to see plans for the bed. Maguyver I'm not!!

Unfortunately the video we have on the bed is not very detailed. We are going to be doing a HUGE build next, which we will spend a lot more time going into detail on the parts and components. Wish we would be able to go into for more detail for you. Surely you have seen this, but this is what we have for the bed. We will do better next time I promise kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXvToqlspp10q5o

Thanks! I've watched a few times now, I think I can build one. Certain it won't be nearly as well fitting as yours. Cheers 😉

Just a thought… make the electrical compartment more shallow and use the space behind it for inside storage? I know the batteries probably go in the bottom of this compartment, but they could be in a pullout drawer for servicing, etc.
@HighlyPaidHandyman3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. Someone else mentioned the same thing. The biggest reason he didn't do that is because the compartment is a welded in box that would have to be cut out and re-welded in place water tight. Thanks for the feedback!

how do your remove the AC unit? I brought a ambulance and I am not sure if I just cut the cube is safe or not? as thoes tube connected to compressor which is located in the front trunk.
@HighlyPaidHandyman3 жыл бұрын
We had to take it to an A/C shop. It’s a simple procedure that cost about $300. The engine ac ties into the rear ac. They have to be separated in order for the engine ac to work and for the rear to be removed. Also, the heat is tied in which mean a coolant line has to be removed and looped. We took ours to a radiator/A/C shop and they took care of all of this on the old and the née build

Those bed spring hinges? where did he source them?
@HighlyPaidHandyman3 жыл бұрын
William said the springs really didn't do much in terms of helping with the weight. He is devising a cable system to help lower the bed. Here are the hinges he used that had minimal success, but could be better than nothing. amzn.to/2QvPZix

Do you have any drawings of the bed assembly? It's pretty damned cool.

How much would you charge for this build?
@HighlyPaidHandyman3 жыл бұрын
That’s a tricky question. First one has to consider the total cost of just the vehicle. Then the cost of parts and materials, which would be over 30k+ at this point. Now, the hard part is the total man hours to complete the conversion. I have no clue what that would come out to at this point. William will have an idea on how to answer your question when he is done. Thousands of man hours at $30/hour is the reason these sell in the 40-80k range. Lots of work and material cost.

That’s, bar none, the best Murphy bed system I’ve seen yet. How is it counterweighted, just the spring hungers? Where were those sourced? I’d move to see a more detailed video on the bed construction. Beautiful build thus far!

do you guys do custom van builds or is this build just for you guys?

This project is just William's first attempt at a conversion. I film his work. We both teach Building Construction Technology, so this is just his fun after work side project. But if it goes well, who knows maybe him and myself will get into the business haha
