I feel for this generation of hip/hop and rap fans. Not just because of the sounds but you really had to be there in the 90’s to understand. Being from Cali but being raised in New Orleans in the early 90’s New Orleans music was so left field from West Coast & NY music. Just like NO & Texas, shit was regional and when you listened to it, it took you to where they were from. I remember watching Geto Boys & UGK video and hearing their songs and feeling like I was walking thru Port Arthur & the 3rd Ward of Houston. Listening to 8ball & MJG and feeling like I was in Memphis. Now everyone sounds the same, rhyme pattern and lingo. Once I started hearing Cali & NY folks talk about Opps and smoking on this and that I got turned off. I miss when southern rap sounded like and felt like southern rap! I miss Crucial Conflict and hearing Chicago rap (even tho I thought them niggas was from the South when Hay came out lol) I miss when NY had their own sound and felt like they were the best because hip hop started out there. Now they follow trends! Wtf. You have to be born in the 80’s and raised in the 90’s to feel me on this post

Funny Story. So if yall seen the movie "Hustle & Flow" then you know what happened between Nelly and Layzie Bone. Apparently, Nelly tried to perform for Layzie. Layzie was drunk as hell and said Nelly was tryna sound too much like his Mo Thug/Bone Thug nigguhs and a fight broke out. You can literally look this shit up
