Great tour around. New friend here from Adelaide. We were at Swan Reach and Blanchetown yesterday. Such devastation from when I used to holiday in Swan Reach as a child in our shack on Mark's Landing. Thanks for sharing

Yes it must be hard for those along the river. 1974 was a big flood but they are saying that this one will be higher than that one was.

Fantastic footage guys. The lower lakes aren't going to have the substantial increase in levels due to the immense area and the ability to attenuate the flow through the several barrages at the bottom of the lakes. It is predicted they will be able to maintain the pool level between approximately 600mm AHD to 1000mm AHD. Will be great if you can get the drone over the mouth.

Thank you. The amount of water that doesn't reach the mouth from a flood of this size highlights why the mouth struggles to stay healthy.

Another good one mate!! It's a double edged sword: Great for the system & viewing but hazardous for property & livelihoods. I guess the narrower lower Murray River valley means deeper & faster flooding - as you say, & more to come - also means different to manage compared to Sunraysia & Riverland with the widespread valley.

They sure do. We've survived a few up here - even vaguely remember my father fighting '56. High rivers since then were nowhere as bad, but still cause distuption, especially to & from work in a lot of cases. We have a lot of "spread" in the Riverland unlike major sections of the Lower Murray.

Can anticipate areas along the river that have been affected by drought might fill up reducing the impact downstream or at least buy time to prepare as the water flows.

@justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 Жыл бұрын
It will start to peak in Renmark next month and further downstream will be 3 or 4 weeks after that so I have heard but I am now expert on this. The river is expected to have a high water level during most of the first quarter of next year but this all depends on what occurs upstream from South Australia. The final outcome could change by an number of weeks yet.
