The Queensland Government is excited to continue its support for the 2024 Queensland Murri Carnival, partnering with the Arthur Beetson Foundation and Health and Wellbeing Queensland to co-sponsor this iconic event.
The Queensland Murri Carnival, which has grown into one of the premier rugby league events for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, goes far beyond sport. It promotes the importance of health and education, requiring participants to meet school attendance and health check requirements. This unique focus makes the Carnival an important platform for young First Nations Queenslanders to not only showcase their sporting talent but also gain valuable life skills.
Set to be the largest Carnival yet, with 105 teams and 3,500 participants, the 2024 event will feature an additional day of competition and new divisions for girls, further expanding opportunities for all players.
