Maybe it's just me, but I was expecting more from this video. I have had better discussions with my friends about the subject.

one last question: what about the heart rate zones? If I run at 5:30 per kilometer in ZONE 2 according to Garmin watches, will it be affected by the extra effort done on the curved treadmill? Will I jump up to ZONE 3 at that pace? and finally, as a runner, what do you prefer for long distance daily training, Motorized or Curved?

Easy to say outside is better when you live in warm weather states. Try it when it's -10 outside in Wisconsin.

I started running at age 37, that also being in Ottawa, Canada. The only reason I started running is to see the sun during horrible and dark Ottawa winter, so there were no options of indoor running. Fast forward 10 months later, I am doing my first marathon.

I ran on a treadmill for the first time today. I'm a general road runner. First thing I realized is that the treadmill doesn't work my heart rate much. With road running, even if its flat zero gradient you quickly feel it a few minutes in. This is not me bashing it. However, I want to figure out what can I get out of it as I want to buy one.

Man, you go in trying to find out about treadmill differences and you end up having two guys talking about their training?

Outdoor runs are greater then treadmill but the problem is that if you have a hard time hitting a park which is far away from you then the gym near your house is a better option atleast your cardio work is not skipped

how much effective is manual tradmill than an electic one??
@QuirkyAvik5 жыл бұрын
Manual treadmills engage a lot more muscle and are better however motorized ones can make you do more work if used in the right way. I learned that from my personal experience, I am not a professional. I highly recommend going out for a jog/walk/run instead of spending on a treadmill.

manual tradmill much effective

If treadmills were cheap I would buy them but it costs nothing to go out and run in a park and you also get to absorb the worlds beauty. As a person that takes finances seriously due to bad behavior previously treadmills as a purchase make no sense for a someone like me who is capable of visiting a park or go outside for a run. I did buy a stationary bicycle because the roads in my area are not cyclist friendly so that purchase made sense.

well, some of us live in the north wear we can't exactly run outside or it too dangerous with the ice and idiot drivers... so there is that...

I can literally wear almost nothing and run all I want, that sounds like a steal for someone thats lazy to suit up.

A lot of outside joggers spit and empty their nose for others to walk on, would you do that inside your house.

its 2 years but urm you can watch a russian?! slav/baltic guy walking and running on a manual self powered treadmill to tell you that it's better and yes he walks on it. meanwhile the other guy prolly a british or american guy tells you that walking on a treadmill pushed him far back that he has to hold the handle. i guess it's better to walk with a chair that has rollers on. so you can sit while you walk down the supermaket. jk.
