“‘Kill Or Be Killed’ is Muse at their heaviest! We wanted to update our hard rock sound on this album and with KOBK we found a modern metal sound featuring double bass drum action and even a death growl. Lyrically the song takes influence from my favourite Paul McCartney song “Live and Let Die”, a dark take on how life’s adversity can sometimes bring out the worst human instincts to survival at any costs.” - Matt

Dominic Howard is a killer drummer yet so underrated. I won't be surprised if their next album is a full metal album. But whatever you want, Muse. Even if it's a jazz album, I'll be happy... won't take it for granted. As long as you're still here together and healthy....

@@dsxndoval I won't spend much time complaining about my faves after my most fave musician died years ago. It's really devastating even to date because he had to deal with health problem and mass bullying for years and years. The later led to his death as a broken soul. He also didn't release many albums. It took him around 4-6 years to release one. So I feel lucky Muse have released 9 albums so far. They have their ups and downs just like other human being but seeing them still making whatever music they want with original line up, healthy and enjoy performing live, anything else is not worth to be complained about. Not all bands/solo artists on this planet could survive this long like them.

bless you buddy.. I used to dislike some of their albums too and wish they make music like their old songs. and then I came across a comment that has similar connotation to yours. since then I changed my mind. the fact that muse has been together more than 20 years and also actively make music, we should appreciate them at this point. I had similar experience to yours when my fave disband, members left etc. all I want is new music but that didn't happen often 😢

They've said that the new album will be a kind of 'Greatest Hits' album, but instead of rehashing existing songs, they're revisiting various styles they've tried over the years and making new songs for them. I'd say this song is very true to that mission statement.

I was a huge Muse fan in 00's as a teen, then somehow I forgot about their music for years I really have no idea why! And then this year randomly I thought about my favourite Muse's songs and get lost in their music once again. It feels like coming back home to a good ol' friend. Good to be back musers! I love the new album.

Imagine Muse is a person, an unemployed one, seeking for a job, and this song is their resume. Stockholm Syndrome-ish intro, the Broadway style verse is taking my soul to an another universe, really a catharsis like The Globalist or USOE in the beginning, hit something in my soul. And the chorus is straight out of BHAR. Wow.

My grandma and I were very close growing up, she and my poppa were like a second parents to me growing up, and she got all of my family into muse years ago and we’ve been hooked since. We would try to go to as many of muse’s concerts as we could, simulation theory was the last one we all made it too last year, before she passed very suddenly, and idk why, but I haven’t been able to cry since or really deal with it properly. This is the first muse song I’ve been able to listen since, and I can’t stop crying since, and I just wanna say thank you so much, for being able to give me this catharsis, I miss her so much ❤️, I know the odds of this really being seen by anyone are slim but, I Just feel like I need to leave this here regardless
