Verona Lyrics [Intro] Can we kiss With poison on our lips Well I'm not scared [Verse 1] Can we touch and taste forbidden bliss They can't stop us now, I won't let you be alone I am coming for you Keep us apart, it's too much to ask [Verse 2] We're running away Take off your clothes and take off your mask It's not over now, I won't leave you in the dark Because I need you so [Intsrumental] [Chorus] Can we kiss, contagion on our lips Well I don't care We can touch and feel forbidden bliss They can't stop us now, I won't let you feel alone Because I need you so [Intsrumental] [Verse 3] You and me Throw caution to the wind And I will risk everything just to feel the warmth and voltage from your skin If this is my last day on Earth, I just want to be with you You are all that's true We will kiss, with poison on our lips Well I'm not scared We will touch and reach forbidden bliss They can't stop us now, I won't let you die alone Because I love you so

Thankyou, because I genuinely get frustrated by lyrics videos like this one, where you can't actually follow them, since they appear at random points on the screen. A good lyric video should bring up the lyrics about a half-second before the words are sung, to give the watcher's brain a chance to process them.

This song is the echo of a timeless love that we have all known, dreamed of or lost at least once in our life. It's probably my favorite song of the new album but also the one that hurts me the most because if I close my eyes I see everything that has been and could have been, I hear the sound of laughter that I miss and the warmth of hugs that I don't have never experienced. And when I open my eyes there is only emptiness and silence. Perhaps in this loneliness the echo of this song hits harder and hurts more. But it is undoubtedly an enchantment that paints exactly what love should be ... And its voice, its falsetto, its high pitch, its vibration are something that envelops you and drags you away, against your will. You surrender without resistance and you are in another world, the Muse's world . Because the absurd thing is that they are damn rock both in the faster and more aggressive songs like We are fucking fucked and also in the slower but intense ones because they know how to hit the listener in the depths! A great return!

Undeniably Muse. Mastery of a 3 piece. The voice. The complexity of the music and the aching lyrics that cut deep without apology for their message yet can still lift your heart and soul. Properly crying, I sat there crying, the song bringing memories of people I've loved & lost. This song is maybe the most perfect and poetic rendition of love during pandemic I've ever heard. Music dramatically creates this surreal feeling of emptiness and waiting we all felt during lockdowns, while the masked lovers of the video show their feelings by dancing, because they can't touch or kiss ( they might have "poison on their lips", so be infected). And the title itself has been a great choice: "Verona" is the city of love (Romeo and Juliet), but also it sounds similar to "The 'Rona", as the virus is sometimes called. What a masterpiece!❤

This song is one of Muse’s most beautiful. My favourite song of the album. Fantastically layered and could I can quite happily close my eyes and drift away to that alone. As much as I love this with Matts voice, instrumentally alone I could hear this on a film, the composition is excellent, emotive, emotional.

Quite easily the best song on the album. Very reminiscent of Absolution. Deliriously romantic space rock that resists the urge to be silly or ludicrous. I wish they'd make more music like this.

Quite easily the most dull song on the album. The return to their rock/metal roots are completely absent on this track. More hardcore guitar and double bass drum please.

I just have to thank these guys for this masterpiece released in such a bad period, first for being one of the few and releasing a full album these days, it seems that each song tells a story, what a top, this is a masterpiece cousin that few will appreciate! How great! Thanks MUSE!!! Thanks !!!!❤️❤️❤️

I don’t know how this isn’t one of, if not THE, most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I just heard it for the first time 8 plays ago. Each time I played it, I’m fairly certain I cry as if I’m hearing for the first time. It would be my hope that more people know the kind of love being portrayed in this song. The world would be a better place. Kudos to that amazingly complimentary vid as well. You have outdone yourselves. Again. Update next morning. 10 additional times. Still like new…

Best track on the album and absolutely among the best they have done. It's about while being "technically" unable to be with the one you love during a pandemic, nothing is going to stop them from being apart. Lines like "Can we kiss with poison on our lips", "Take off your clothes and take off your mask", and "They can't stop us now, I won't let you die alone" are gorgeous, haunting, and heartbreaking at the same time. If this track doesn't make you feel something, you have no soul.

To me this song about forbidden love, someone having an affair. But maybe it’s just a thought or a dream from a singer perception that doesn’t exist in reality, he deeply in love with someone who can’t be with him anymore.

Dying inside for them to perform in México soon !! Matt, Chris, Dom, México loves you endlessly. Siempre superando expectativas!! Surreal!!
