I'm one of those people who remember Muse bursting onto the scene and liked them, but not enough to ever buy an album or bother to see them live. I checked this out yesterday and it made me want to check out some other songs of theirs from recent years that I may have missed. I did already really like Dig Down which I came across through a tv trailer once - it's very different to their usual sound but it's a nice and simple bluesy rock number that I can get on board with. This is definitely one of the most "metal" things I've heard from them. Also made me think of Stockholm Syndrome, as well as In Your World, which I actually mistook for having blast beats at the beginning when I first heard it haha. So now I understand more why there are people who consider them their favourite band. They do experiment and try to take their music into different places, but they somehow always stay uniquely Muse and keep the quality constant. Incidentally, I ran into Matt Bellamy once when I used to work at Wembley Arena. It wasn't at a show of theirs, it was actually a Madonna concert. He had somehow gotten lost and found his way to our staff break room. I met him on the stairs when coming off my break. He completely innocently went "Sorry, I think I took a wrong turn. Could you show me where I'm meant to be siting?" I looked at him, then to his ticket, then back at him, and went "Errr you're Matt, right?" He said "yes", then I took a second or 2 to get back into work mode and not freak out, and was like "Of course. Right this way..." I have no other recollection of that day.

I'll say that, especially now, with how far they've come as a band seeing them live is an absolute treat. Even if you're not the biggest fan or most familiar with the full catalogue, the shows they put on are incredible. Brilliant productions and they sound incredible.

I will never get tired of reactions from 5:59 onwards. Everyone anticipates a heavy breakdown, but it still exceeds all expectations and is so hard not to feel overwhelmingly hyped, especially when it hits the next gear at 6:06! Classic Muse fans like myself get to be transported back to their older music (though this is still the heaviest stuff they have done).

Doesn't matter how old you were when you found them, only that you did, as with all bands from before your time . I loved muses early albums. But from 2nd law onwards they went downhill overall, whilst still producing some gems in each of those albums. As someone who was a fan before they were known (thanks to a legendary DJ called John Peel on Radio 1), watching this decline has been hard to watch. This track genuinely fills me with giddy anticipation for a new muse album, for the 1st time in over a decade. You get to jump in at this point with a massive back catalog to enjoy. It's a blessing and a curse my friend. 😁
@PauloRenato233 жыл бұрын
@@FeelMyFerret couldn't agree with you more... I've been a Muse fan since 1999 when I first saw them in a Music Festival here in Portugal, didn't knew them and they blew my mind!! Since then I saw them live 6 or 7 times I think... I went to England on purpose to be in the first Wembley concert, I went to Madrid in Spain for a concert and then went to Lisbon the next day for another concert... Muse was my favorite band in the world and it was so hard to listen to their decline, to their pop/electro/synth shit, I was so disappointed I can't even put it to words... So, I really really hope this is them going back to their roots, to what they really were and back to doing amazing music!
@PauloRenato233 жыл бұрын
@lilith Praises to you father for passing good things to you and, you should be jealous of us because we got to witness the amazingness that was real Muse but you can join along, you just have to listen to their first 4 albums on repeat, all master pieces, get ahold of the B-Sides, so many amazing songs there too, watch the recorded live shows like Hullaballoo Soundtrack, The Wembley Show, Glastonbury... and you'll be amazed. My favorite Muse song is a bit of a lesser known gem, it's called Darkshines (it's from Origin of Symmetry, their best album) and it's amazing. Another way to witness the genius of Muse is to listen to Hyper Music and then listen to the B-Side Hyper-Chondriac Music and witness how the same lyrics can be used to express to completely opposite states of mind, it's amazing to listen to those master pieces. Give these songs ago and then let us know if you like them :)

Well I hate to do it again as an older listener but I remember the first time seeing Muse on Top of the Pops performing Bliss from Origin of Symmetry. I was 13 at the time and was totally hooked. Got the album for my birthday and never looked back. I do feel for the younger generation as there really is nothing out there like this today. We can all be happy Muse are back to making unbelievable songs again I suppose.

So I didn't REALLY get into muse until about 5-6 years ago. Heard a few songs, but didn't know they were muse. Then after waking the fuck up, I DISCOVERED muse. And from a newer fan, looking not through nostalgia glasses, MUSE has always delivered. And they have only gotten better. Every album, they improve tremendously, even if u don't like where they go, they always take you on a musical journey. They can fucking play anything. And their politically driven stuff is the pinacle. This song is already top 10 for me. Long live MUSE. Let's stop STANDING DOWN PEOPLE! Thanks for the video guys, first time watcher 🤘
