Well there was a significant shift during The Resistance in what Muse was - they became more overblown, veering more into the ridiculous - this album seems very self aware of what to expect from a Muse album and cranks it to 11. The 2nd Law is sadly their worst record. Drones - I liked Reapers and The Handler but again, compared to their earlier works it just wasn’t a great album. Simulation Theory…umm. So now we have this record, it’s just a lot of fun. We can argue how great Exogenesis is, Guiding Light, Unsustainable and Isolated System etc…but as an entire record, no.
