Matt Bellamy is known for his high pitched voice. You should check out Knights of Cydonia (live in Rome olympic stadium), or Micro Cuts if you really want to hear his high voice.

The end of this video is a "prequel" to 'won't stand down," which actually came out in video first. So this was more like a call back. It's true the Muse is very distinct sounding but they can also be incredibly versatile. My favorite band. Matt is not just the singer and songwriter, but also the guitarist and pianist. He's ridiculously talented (see "Space Dementia" for his piano work, preferably the live version. )

like yourself Nikki, I thought it was simply a Halloween themed song as well, I'd have never guessed the meaning behind the lyrics if not for you looking into them...a few horror related references I managed to catch watching this were the car at the gate of the house was from Christine, the scene where the man ran into the hedge/maze was from The Shining, and also when you were reading the lyrics "I'm your biggest fan" is from Misery...I don't mean to be a pain, because I'm always requesting Chelsea Wolfe, but she's a perfect candidate for your Rocktober feature month, please Britney I mean Nikki, check out Chelsea Wolfe "The Culling", "Carrion Flowers", or "Feral Love" official video's, all of which have feeling of unease about them, oops I did it again

As Matt has already confirmed this song is about domestic violence. Particularly during the covid lockdowns. This song is taken from their most recent album called Will of The People. The whole album is about Matt/the bands thoughts on the whole pandemic and lockdowns. Muse have always delved into areas that a lot of people may not feel comfortable with or even agree with. I'd definitely recommend you listening to each album in order from Showbiz onwards. Just be prepared to go down a deep rabbit hole at times 😁😁

That's very interesting. I didn't know enough about them to suspect anything deeper than a Halloween song by the first listen but I will have to check out more of their stuff. Now I'm curious what else they have to say. 😜

"Stockholm Syndrome" is definitely my favorite Muse song...

High pitched, breathy, drawn out words. It’s typical Matt Bellamy

Type O Negative is way more Halloween focused (I saw your Wolf Moon video)... Once Halloween is over you can focus on the best Muse, which is early Muse such as albums such as Origin Of Symmetry and Absolution... Check out their song "Stockholm Syndrome" from Absolution... Actually listen to the whole album... Thanks... 🔥🎸🔥
