welp, if i wasnt crying now then this animatic sued my tear ducts in2 submission :') i love how it starts off with the faintest indent of something being off, but its swept under the rug by all the positives: a family, people to talk to who care,, and yet, most of the animatic takes place in phelgors room, where the door is shut and theyre alone :0 thus the entire thing is 'closed off', to some extent,, like we are some of the very few who've witnessed phelgor after theyve dropped this protective barrier :o somehow even just their smile has so much behind it?? it looks like one of those smiles that done reach ur eyes, forced but given up on halfway through, like even that was a mistake of an endeavour,,, :'(( also how u showed them busying themself with different 'hobbies' they want to be a happier kid, they *want* to have their only concerns and interests be playing with dolls and taking naps, but all of it is so transparent and meaningless because it always falls back to how its never been their reality, and how even now nothing is going to be the same as they want it to be,, which was why i liked the emphasis even on the chess piece, because, from just one look, it seems.. miniscule?? its so small and can easily be moved about, and yet when they fall its as if the entire world has been dragged down with it, at least, from phelgor's perspective :c... its even worse because its a parallel to them with the rest of the sins, keeping their cool by a thin veil that is only ever broken through by someone who you dont even *know* and who doesnt *want* u 2 know :I its a bitter irony, because even if modeus sees, they brush it off not because they dont care, but because theyre afraid of what'll happen if they *allow* themself 2,,, D: which is why when it all piles up, how nothing has been working and everything feels *just* as bad as it was before, that they snap,, each drawing, each toy just another reminder of failure, of defeat, and theyre just so *tired* because no kid should have to handle this on their own,,,, and that damn chess piece was the one to break them,, :< now all the poignant and pronounced 'Hiding In Your Hands' lyrics come full circle, phelgor falling apart and putting themself back together on shaky support systems and wobbly knees,, and the cycle continues with none (atleast, thats what they *think*) being the wiser u_u... P.S... THAT MODEUS!!! At 1:26 if you take in the way they are sitting, Phelgor is looking at Modeus, I feel like there's some type of connection between them or something. Then theres the fact Phelgor probably had a brother or sister, the rook, and the king and queen represent their parents

The Rook in Chess, is the protector of the King and Queen, notice the King and Queen were knocked over while the Pawn still stood, as well as when Modeus was holding the Rook. The Rook is also deemed to be more valuable than the bishop in chess, but is often under estimated and not used a lot even though when used right can be a very powerful piece.

I just noticed this and I know it's late n all, but phelgor was represented by a pawn,which was deemed as the most insignificant piece in chess. While their sibling was a rook. Meaning in a way their sibling was probably more valuable to the parents than them.(ya know cause the queen and the king are the most important parts so they would be more pleased with the pieces more capable to protect them)

However what I think is going on is that phelgor just chose those to represent their own family. Perhaps of the hand at the end is modeus then that means he probably just found the rook that phelgor maybe misplaced? Anyway I think what's going on is that the rook in fact represents their sibling however mushie also had modeus hold it meaning maybe he wants to help phelgor???? I dunno at this point.

Beautiful Animatic! I also got Phelgor at first at your quiz, then changed some answer (bcs I had multiple) and then got Levi, so these two are already precious to me! (Especially Levi bcs you used Pierrot for.."his" animatic I guess wiotnwioznwizn) --- I also love the chess symbolic in this! It's amazing and I love chess, I just sadly don't get to play it anymore, because no one really in my family can play it, sadly. My theory on the chess is it symbolizes Phelgor themselves, their family in the past and then at last the Cryp07, because they became Phelgors family. --- 0:52 "Can't let them know" Means probably that Phelgor is struggling, but they are hiding their feelings like Levi. What is interesting and suprised me tho is that at 2:47 it was actually Modeus that notices that something was off. I was actually kinda expecting it to be Levi but it's really clever in a way! This has so much potential for character development and I'm already looking forward to see how everything plays out! --- 1:15 Do I also smell/see a ship at that maybe? :D (jk ofc..unless?:D) --- 1:43 At this point I already thought that this either symbolizes Phelgors old family/parents and that they were maybe arguing and Phelgor was in the middle of it. Modeus! Which really lets me think (and hope) that they will help Phelgor ;^; And to summarize what I think/learned of Phelgor: Phelgor struggles with living (maybe) and is tired of it. They don't want to let the others know, because they think they will not understand and maybe because it's scary to let them know too? To admit that you are tired of living, it would hurt the others right? The people they care about..so they are hiding it. Phelgor has depression and probably some kind of trauma and absolutely no child should have this. What I mean to say it that especially children of such a young age don't deserve that, nobody does but it hurts my soul that Phelgor is feeling this well at such a young age. I really want to hug Phelgor now, ahhhh, poor baby, they've been through so much, they deserve to rest ;^; (not as in..being not alive anymore ofc) ----- This really was a beautiful animatic, which made me quite emotional. I think that before they became a sin, Phelgor didn't have the perfect family. It was probably messy and ended up with both parents either divorcing, fighting or them dying when Phelgor was younger. They now are obsessed with trying to create the perfect family. 2 guess; The parents were abusive towards Phelgor and made them think they were ''worthless'' and ''lazy'' (thus the sin Sloth and the fact they can't seem to pick up a hobby) and to block out the trauma they try to create the perfect family in a little dollhouse, and the obsession became harder and harder to control, they eventually moved on to the other sins. The little pieces at 1:41 that are fallen over at the queen and king, possibly resembling Phelgor's parents when they were younger. The small pawn is the smallest of all the chess pieces, thus resembling Phelgor. (Also seen from other animatics, Phelgor likes chess, or at least it plays a part in their past) Also at 3:04 when Phelgor sees the little pawn laying in their bed, it reminds them of their past that they tried to block out and it gives them flashbacks (possibly), thus also remembering the words their parents used to insult them and abuse them, and that's probably why their eyes turn blue, as it resembles the sin they are (Sloth), and as said before, the abuse being mental which resulted in them being called ''Lazy'' ''Fat'' ''Worthless'' ''Mistake''. And lastly, I noticed that at 0:25 there's a pawn, king, queen, and rook. The rook probably means Phelgor had an older brother/sister, but they must've disappeared since it isn't seen again at 1:41. Later on, at the end of the video, there's a hand holding the rook, and at the last shot, it's shown to possibly be Modeus. Maybe Modeus is an older brother type of figure to Phelgor?? Modeus is also shown at 2:47 checking in on Phelgor.

this is a masterpiece oh my god-- My theory is that Phelgor had/has depression (or whatever form of it the sins can have) and they're scared to tell anyone because they don't think the others will understand. They try to be a normal kid, but they can't. They try to play with dolls, but that just reminds them of the imperfect life they do have. They try playing chess, but they notice the way the chess pieces are so small, but just one of them falling or getting caught can change everything on the board. And I think that's how they became the sin Sloth. They had depression, and they felt unmotivated to do anything, so they tried to go to sleep at any chance they got. They tried to draw, to cook, to play outside, but never had the motivation to do anything, and on the rare occasion they did, they thought they were never good enough.

2:49 - 2:50 At this part I was wondering what was happening in between these 2 scenes and then when I look at the scenes in between 3:17 and 3:20 the song's explaining how now one understands BUT Modeus is the only one that isn't shown in any of the scenes So I was wondering if during what happened at 2:49 - 2:50, Phelfor and Modeus might've talked and now Phelgor feels like Modeus understands them a little better now? I noticed that the chess pieces represent their family. Mom, the queen. Dad, the king. They, the pawn. And the tower, probably a brother, for what the song says. If that's the case, then, Phelgor's parents died, and their brother disappeared. They seem to hate themselves now, because they see the pawn in the bed, like, sad? And they didn't seem to like it at all. And... Modeus has the tower at the end of the video. And that's supposed to represent Phelgor's brother, who also disappeared when Phelgor was playing in the toy house and it's revealed that their parents died. Sorry for the bad english, i just noticed that no one has said this, so... Also, i love the animatic. It has so many feelings in it.

knowing Phelgor's backstory now makes me really appreciate them on a deeper level now. Idk if I'm guessing correctly, but they may act childish and innocent because they don't want others to know about how they really feel inside. A child usually is happy because they've yet to be tainted by the world. maybe Phelgor thinks that acting as one would make them happy? I assume so because I'm like that. my family has a lot of issues and acting happy like a child, I hope, relives the weight that they handle. I think that Phelgor is one of the sins who may be the strongest, despite being the sin of sloth. it takes so much strength to put on a happy face for the others around you and even play chess. Omg so I think the book phelgor is reading thru the looking glass and the description of the book is when Alice enters an alternate universe where everything is in reverse and the book seems to go well along with the song and the story because of how they think the world is -a perfect and happy family- and what it’s really like. This is my theory though it might be completely wrong: 0:27 The 4 chess pieces are probably Phelgor and their family. The dad is the king, the murderer or the brother (maybe even both) is the rook and Phelgor’s the pawn. 1:12 - 1:28 Phelgor basically says that they thinks of the sins of their family, but they aren’t Phelgors *real* family. 1:42 Something happened to their parents and Phelgor either couldn’t do anything or was to shocked and scared to do anything. So because they didn’t do anything they blamed themselves for that accident and became a sin (remember their sin is sloth) Also it’s a little obvious that Phelgors biggest fear is being alone (3:06) but at the same time they’re isolating themselves by keeping their secret and their distance from the other sins. The sad thing is that all the sins probably don’t share their pains with anyone (just like Phelgor) although most of them would probably be happy to listen (like Lucer). At the end Phelgor holds the rook in their hand meaning they don’t know what happened to them, also the rook doesn’t show up in 1:42 or anytime in the video after 0:27 Edit: Sorry if I used Phelgors pronouns the wrong way ;=;

Hey here's a question! When someone use "they/them" as a pronoun, do you say "they is" or "they are"? Demi- lune as someone who uses they/them pronouns I can confirm its “they are” since that’s grammatically correct. In this instance they is used in the singular form but English is weird and it still is phrased like it’s plural. Hope that answers your question!

Theory time! Ok so at the start of the animatic you see 4 chess pieces these obviously aren't the 7 deadly sins bc there is only 4 and there isn't a sign of them missing any pieces so I assume this is Phelgors past family. A mom dad (queen/king) a rook (sibling) and pawn (phelgor), the next time we see them the queen and king are lying down in the middle of the living room bc of other hints im assuming this was on Christmas, my theory is that Phelgors parents died on Christmas eve, later we even see the pawn in the bed so im thinking that Phelgor was asleep when this all happened and blames themself for their parents death or at least feels guilt for not being there when it happened. This ties into Phelgors sin which is Sloth(inaction/laziness). There could've also been a fire since we saw a lot fireplace in the living room and maybe the fire killed Phelgor in their sleep. Just my thoughts on the video Edit: WOAH OK SO THIS COULD BE A LONG SHOT BUT WHAT IF MODEUS WAS THEIR BROTHER/sibling? Bc at the end we see the rook (Phelgors sibling) and then we see modeus right after?? Am shooketh rn

I can really relate to how they feel in the sense that what happens when you are behind closed doors, where nobody can see you, that's where things happen that nobody sees. The crying and the heartbreak. I loved this animatics portrayal of all of that and at the same time wish they didn't have to go through that. Because from a personal feeling and I don't speak for them you end up feeling lonely even though there are so many people behind that door.
