What a perfect coincidence, if you believe in coincidences. I have just got back into skateboarding at 38 after nearly 2 decades and this morning I was talking about getting into the flow and that when in a state of flow, the fear of falling when trying to learn new tricks almost disappears. It was something I never really thought about as a youth but while practicing alone the other night the session became a flow state and things just went so smooth, the fear drifted away, I felt things just sort of click as I landed the trick I was working on and then next thing I knew well over an hour had gone by. I think that was the first real flow state I have ever consciously felt or realized I was in.

This is incredibly useful if you have ADHD. Flow is very different from hyperfocus. One is balanced and invigorating, the other is chaotic and may even harm those around you.

I have a whole series on rehabilitating the flow state. It’s more pragmatic than believing it’s a mind state out that the mind has to be some particular way. The whole attaining no mind thing is definitely a unicorn chase

If you've never experienced it by willing it, you will have a difficult time knowing how to experience it. Personally, I live in a state of flow. Distractions and problems do not exist in my life. Good luck!

@@Sammasambuddha I have plenty of distractions and problems. Flow state is still the default. Not sure how to not do it at this point but I did find an incredibly effective way to jog the memory of it with water.

@Aquaticphilosophia from an mma fighter i found flow comes in situations where you just do and don't overthink. In a fight that adrenaline response kicks you into flow state. Same when driving a car fast you just act and trust yourself wjth no 2nd guessing. Thats the true flow

The true state of mushin-no-shin...it is a...wonder. only TWO times one may experience it. The novice ONCE (an accidental 'taste') and a master that MIGHT experience at will. Forget TRYING to achieve that state. You'll fail.

"I don't hit, it hits by itself".😎 That Bruce Lee bit at the end is a cool way to end the video. ☯️I experience flow state when I play sports. Most of the time when I play football (soccer).☯️🇵🇬🙏🏾 Good Health and Blessings everyone. ✝️🕎✡️☪️☮️☯️ (Read more, added two comments in 'reply' with my specific experience)

HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE. ... Took me until my adulthood to realize it was a 'thing'. That not everyone experiences 'it'. Or at least put a few words or names to the experience. Been happening since I was a kid. Can recall the first time it happened, and everytime since. One of the ways I know its happened is that I can't forget it, it's memorable. But I have no control over it , no attachment. It just is. Understood it somewhat as being 'in the zone' - What I heard sports men and women say. But they never really could explain the experience explicitly. Like I said it took me until adulthood, when I learned about Taoism and Zen Buddhism, then it started to make sense (Raised Christian Protestant- United Church, with a bit of Catholicism in PNG✝️🇵🇬 🙂). Took me a while after that before I told anyone. I had words to describe it now as an adult. Told my family first, not to brag or anything. Just to let them know I have words to explain this experience that I didn't know was a 'thing'. But apparently it is. It's hard finding people who have experienced it. My family understands but I can tell when we converse, they've never experienced it. Because 'it just is', free from attachment, like an out of body experience, a 'oneness' in the pluralistic sense, a 'wholeness'. Words I use now to describe the experience: 1. In the Zone. 2. The Tao- the name that cannot be named, that is all and one in the same. 3. Flow State. Comes with an awareness now in my adulthood. I'm 'made aware' of things around me and I have no control over it. (Is how I explained it to my family.) Manifests itself more often as an intuition of danger around me and others. Like I said there's no on or off button it just happens, it just is. I just know from experience what situations it's likely to happen. Once again, hope this helps someone. Good Health and Blessings. 🙏🏾✝️🕎✡️☪️☮️☯️

I'm now going to use: 1. Mushin 2. No 'mindedness'. 3. "I do not hit, it hits by itself"... Maybe for my instance I'll say, "I do not play, it plays by itself". Once again, Good Health and Blessings. 🙏🏾✝️🕎✡️☪️☮️☯️

Amazing Man! My Favorite video is "The story of a Chinese farmer", why are your videos not gaining more views in past year? there are more views on older videos though all of your videos are as good as higher viewing videos.

2:58 Be fully engaged in the doing here and now, and realize it's a play. Accept yourself completely without judgment. Allow your thoughts to flow freely without resistance. Be the observer. Only awareness matters. Contents of thoughts matter little because you're aware of the source. Mind must always be in the state of flow. Observe with detachment. Thanks. 5 July 2023.🤡😇💖🕯🕯👍🎅🍇
