so, harem trash. When we deride harem, we don't mean is the MC D'in them down, we mean is the story loaded with female fan orbiters as filler content. It takes away from actual story and is in place of actual interesting and deep relationships forming. Things like deepening stories with platonic bros, rivals, mentors. Instead its that stuff is replaced with meaningless fangirls fangirling. Its like low quality junk food.

Oh no there's alot a character development and connections. Far more than almost any anime I've watched due to it being based on a light novel and not a manga. The women are also not meaningless fan girls they have stories of their own. So not only does the main character have friendships, rivalries, and mentors but so do his wives.

It's because they copied this without any of it's depth. I mean the guy actually carries truma from his 1st life and it's not every women just trying to get with him. He marries 3 women who all have their own plot lines and agency in the story
